Hi!! My biggest advice when choosing an undergraduate/bachelors major is to pick one that YOU will enjoy! All vet schools do have requirements that you’ll have to meet to be accepted but what major you choose is not one of them. Yes, most people choose to major in animal sciences or biology but that’s not a requirement. I know people who chose the non-traditional route and majored in English and political sciences. You can choose a major that makes you happy but make sure to research the vet schools you want to attend and still meet all of their prerequisite requirements. As for what school you attend, I suggest touring and really just figuring out what your priorities are and where you think you will fit best! Hi, thank you so much for watching my videos! All of us experience stress and anxiety, it’s pretty common among vet students lol. Our vet school and most vet schools have counselors specifically for veterinary students so I would suggest utilizing them if anxiety is an issue you experience. I also would advise making friends and talking to them, because odds are most of them are experiencing the same feelings you are and it can be helpful to know you’re not alone. For energy, I suggest group studies and also changing up your scenery. You can go to the school or a coffee shop, any change of scenery helps me stay motivated and focused. It’s hard to be “happy” while studying but I definitely think group study is helpful and it’s a great motivator because I feel encouraged to learn things so I’m able to comprehend and keep up with my study buddies!

@@Alexray125 I really fell in love with Mizzou when I toured it and it was my top choice. I would highly recommend touring the schools your most interest in/accepted to, it helped me decide between some schools!

Unfortunately, blood is a big part of the job. However, I would strongly advise that you try to get some clinical experience (volunteering, shadowing, working). It is a great way to determine if veterinary medicine is the right career for you, but it may also help you become more comfortable around blood and gore. As for science, just keep trying your hardest. The science used in veterinary medicine is likely pretty different from what you're learning in school. If you can push through the chemistry and physics, you will get to start learning about animal and veterinary science, which I think is much easier to understand, and more fun too!
