Thank you, I learned a lot. It would be very kind and helpful if you can also make a tutorial using Redshift in the Solaris environment with creating / assigning and rendering from inside Solaris. That would be awesome.

Super nice as always! But why you are not using directly the proxy obj node from redshift options? I meant first you will need to export the rs proxy sequence and then import it to the redshift proxy node, but at least you save yourselft from this vex code

Hey Paul, thank you very much for the tutorial. This is very helpful. What the best way to get more definition on the heighfields, I tried bigger exports and smaller spacing but I'm still not getting sharp edges. I need to blur it and I loose some of it.
@PaulEsteves282 ай бұрын
Hmmm, that's interesting. is it the rendered mesh that isn't subdividing enough or is it the HF not being sharp enough? I would imagine a 16k 23bit exr would store incredibly sharp textures, but, I've never really tried as I've not needed something at that level.

Hi Paul. Thanks for your tutorial. I found a solution about OCIO issue in Houdini 20. You could add this into houdini.env, OCIO = "C:\ProgramData edshift\Data\OCIO\config.ocio"

Hello, youtube has auto subtitles (and translate). I'm not sure how good these are on my videos, but from the brief tests I did, they work well. I'd maybe suggest trying it on some free tutorials here on my youtube channel and seeing if that works for you. If so, the should be the same for Patreon.

Hi I have used this node. Created a Smoke sim and used velocity of it to drive Particles. But the problem is that density of smoke sim decreases over time and it completely dissipates. Since Particles either die or live it keeps living even after the smoke sim completely dissipates. I have tried tweaking Life expectancy, Life Variance and Impulse activation of particles to match smoke sim dissipation but I am not able to kill the particles exactly the same way the smoke dissipates. I want the particles to die in the same manner the smoke dissipates so that both look visually identical. Do you know any method to achieve this ?
@vladartiomav2473Ай бұрын
I think you will need to manually set the dead attribute to particles, based on the density attribute from the volume. VOPs or wrangles will be needed here for sure

I am trying to export this as an alembic to bring into Blender. But when I export it and import it in Blender, I get the simulation but also alot of static meshes. So everything is just a mess. What do I do wrong?
@PaulEsteves283 ай бұрын
I don't know Blender unfortunately, but it may be possible that it doesn't support packed geometry being deleted, so you may have to move it somewhere 100km off screen instead of deleting it.

@blackspear2174 ай бұрын
Hmm love your videos Paul, but the deflection angle of the ball is throwing me off. Without a prior rotational force, having the ball bounce back in the direction it came from created a bit of mental friction. That said, looks like there’s a lot of fun stuff to uncovered and will definitely check it out. Cheers!

Great video. Now, I have a little trouble, but a very important one.. How in the world, are we supposed to track focus on an object with a Solaris camera? Do anybody know? In OBJ context you can do vlength + vtorigin function to calculate the focus distance to an object, but I can't get it to work with Solaris. This drives me crazy.. Thanx in advance
