So true, I was going for a hybrid 50mpg and I ended up with the most impractical (for me) car. I absolutely in love with this car, I got a black 2024 Core.

I wasn't even in the market for a GRC and walked in looking for a new Tacoma with a stick. They said they didn't have one, but they do have a manual Corolla on the floor. I go in, test drive it. A couple days later it's in my driveway!

I just picked mine up two days ago, I've never owned a stick, and will learn on this car. Many people hearing this will think I'm crazy but its the multidude of videos like this praising the car that i decided to get it. I have no experience with sports cars at all so to me this thing feels like it race anything and win (i came from a 2012 civic so the bar is exceptionally low). Its gonna be a wild ride with this car i can tell already.

I think I saw your post on r/grcorolla. Of course I wouldn't recommend learning on this car, but at the same time -- there's no better car to drive stick than your first stick shift!

Grats on car. You can learn on any car, just get basics down, don't try anything fancy like heel and toe. Learn basic downshift throttle taps to keep rpm where you want it. Watch some good videos. Good luck and have fun

When you said suspension is stiff. Did the dealer remove the spacers in the springs?

I scared myself into checking and yes they did and I took some time editing so since then I've hit past the break-in period and they have softened a bit! Thanks for the suggestion though 🙏

I found a msrp dealer in California and have been on the waiting list for a circuit edition. One year later I finally got a call this week and it's a ice cap circuit arriving end of March!
