They had a sticky pad underneath the tray for Maguire's hand to attach to, the sandwich was all glued together because you can't throw a sandwich in the air in real life without it flying apart, and the items had sticky pads on them so that as long as they landed correctly, they would stick and attach to the tray (this is most visible right after the apple lands). So it's as hard as ... catching a bunch of glued sticky stuff with a tray stuck to your hand, which is still difficult but not completely impossible. Also impressive is that neither of them looks like they're 156 takes deep into this nightmare shoot. They could have easily blown the take by being too focused on the catch to respond appropriately. The dismount is almost as good as the catch itself.

The way she turns towards the camera and subtly breaks the fourth wall could come across as campy but the way the actress plays it just makes it creepier.

I haven’t seen this movie, but I love how at first glance, these people are fully capable of just jumping this old lady, but she’s just creepy as hell so they dont, and to top it off she just pulls a gun out of nowhere. Shit is hilarious.

red and blue 3d lighting, the actress wore makeup that was visible in red lighting but not in blue lighting and they switched the colour lense to red slowly to make the transformation smooth.

@@BigHeadTube who would have thought if Robert Downey jr was nominated for best actor at the Oscars for the Avengers film Endgame in which Rdoj refused to be nominated for the Oscars because of Joker. (which seems right to me). But Now it is time RDJ is going to win & confronts Joaquin Phoenix by Oscar 2024 (Best Actor & Best Supporting Actor).

They did (pretty much) the same thing in the first "Jekyll and Hyde" movie... The right mixture of makeup and a shift of lighting to create the illusion of an actual physical change in the character. It looks REALLY great for it's time, and I really wish that they'd still experiment with that same kind of process even in today's cinema! We NEED more practical effects these days! 👍

I have been saying for a while now we have officially reverted back to the time where Practical Effects now look more realistic than CGI
@judex322610 ай бұрын
100% agree, CGI today looks nothing like it did in the first Matrix film. For several years CGI has looked like bad animation and not realistic at all. How could they have screwed up CGI special affects so quickly? There’s no doubt the older movies will stand the test of time way more than the crap they churn out today.
