If this was indie, someone would buy it for an autumnal palette. I often would fantasize about creating a palette to sell. I already know the color stories would be hella better than some of the palettes I see. It’s a bold statement I know. Do you press something into your shades to make them look like that?

I can see this being an autumn palette! I think I have seen an indie palette similar to this, now that I think about it. And honestly, I believe you about the color stories. A lot of brands have gotten pretty boring with their color choices. I'm not really sure what you mean. I just repress all my eyeshadows dry, I don't add anything to them. Thank you for watching! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much! And bold lipsticks can be difficult because a lot of times they aren't practical. I'll be honest, when I'm going about my day, I'm typically wearing something close to my natural lip color or a balm because a bold lip looking good can be tedious. I do love the bolder colors though, so sometimes I'll put one on just to hang out around my house 😂 So there's always that option! Thank you for watching! ❤️❤️❤️

Cool to see you use some shades from Machina lately, I have really been enjoying it. I only have 3 eyeshadow brushes so im really limited there as far as technique, but playing with color has been fun. I I also used the shade Cyborg as a highlighter today and wow, love that. I have never traditionally used blush or highlighter but something snapped in me a few months ago I've been having fun with them. Blush still doesn't work for me however lol Have you ever thought of doing an all black and white palette? I think it would be really cool to play with finish type in a palette like that. Omg that red look❤ perfection

Thank you so much! And I'll have to try Cyborg as a highlighter, I hadn't thought of that. I haven't ever made a black and white palette, but I did do some looks with ColourPop's Smoke Show palette a long time ago. I'll add making my own black and white palette to my list of video ideas because that sounds like fun! Thank you for watching ❤️❤️❤️

@07:16 ..With total respect and love, the term you may have been searching for, on the fly, as you narrated this video? "Secondary Green". You know: from art class/beauty school/college arts degrees...Colour Theory & The Beloved Colour Wheel! 1- Primary: Red, Yellow, Blue. Cannot be busted down any further to reveal new colours. OR! No new colours that we humans... (or possibly not *all* of us, but we'd have no way of knowing that because experience is subjective.) ...with our limited eyesight/brainpower, in the dimension we inhabit, can all experience, anyway.) 2- Secondary Colours: Green, Purple, and Orange. This is where you take a Primary, like Red, skip the colour clockwise to it, (orange) and mix it with the next one down. Yellow. Yeah: you just skipped a colour that, as-of-yet didn't exist, in order to MAKE it exist! Fun, huh? 3- Tertiary Colours: *deep breath* Red-Orange, Orange-Yellow, Yellow-Green, Green-Blue, Blue-Indigo, Indigo-Purple, and Purple-Red. Put all the slices of the pie together, in their proper order... (Y'know the triangle triad of pie shapes-in-a-circle-nuclear-symbol? Two primaries would be at the "top-sides", while the final primary would go in the bottom wedge.) .....and you get a whole-assed colour wheel. You could get really fancy and do 2-3× Tertiary colours, or create separate wheels of varying brightness, that fit together to show Value (how saturated a colour is). Or add "grunge" to one of the circles. Another cool trick! If you mix any one colour with its opposite on the wheel, you'll end up with "Complimentary Colours." A weird name, because they basically turn to muck, cancelling eachother out. (Like peach colour correcting to neutralize blue-violet undereye discolouration. You know the deal.) Another trippy thing about "Complimentary Colours", and the way they probably got their name. If you take them, and put them side-by-side, they make eachother POP! They look more vibrant next to eachother. Hence, one of the reasons why your Bloodstone Palette looks so breathtaking: the differing values, shades, and textures of blues and oranges. Complimentary colours. Plus you're rad at this! This the first video of yours I've seen. I found your artistry and talent amazing, but also, your voiceover was so soothing. I realize that *you're* aware AAALLLLLL of this Colour Science, Ash. I mostly wrote it for fun, and for anyone in the comments whom were unaware of the science of colour. Yes: I spell it with a U. It's a Canada thing. Or it was? We're a Commonwealth Country, but a weird one. Perhaps because we have the largest unprotected border (besides Russia and Mongolia) in the world. Make that with the trigger-happy, Military-Industrial-Complex-lovin' United Estadas. So, there's FAR more U.S. culture adaptation leakage into Canada than from UK. Some things stuck, though: mostly spelling and bad teeth because "Universal Healthcare" doesn't include ocular or dental care, unless you have money to go to a specialist. Or unless something is so infected it'll kill you. Then they'll yank the tooth. Or eye. Or both. I digress again. The switch from Imperial to Metric happened waaayyyy before I was born, so I have a weird melange going on. Spelling "Color" looks soooo wrong to me. I drive in Km/h, but I think of height/weight in Imperial. But other things i think of in ounces from my days as a stylist, and. .. other things. I use z a lot, whereas most Commonwealth Countries go out of their way not to. Especially Australia, I've noticed. In AU, it's "decolourisation." Whil(st)😅 I spell it "decolourization." ** **One of the many beauty euphemisms I learned, as opposed to "Bleaching" (also see "Lifting, High-Lighting.). Which, along with "Dyeing," (Tint or Low-Lighting!), "Perm/Chemical Straightening" (Chemical Texturization or de-texturization!) "Hairdresser"(Stylist/Colour and/or Texture Technician), and "Customer" (Client or Guest.) These terms were almost erased from my brain in hair school, and the following cult-like weirdness of that industry in the aughts. Anywaayyyyy! Gorgeous work! I'm stoked to go backwatch your other work! I'll L/S/C/S, so the algo can do what it do. Have a bitchin' day!

-first of, yeah the mattes are amazing it's true I do not know why some people, famous and less famous, reached the consensus that they are "okay"... i mean, ok snob! lol -Blendbunny is amazing she never did anything wrong in her life! -i am self taught. and I think until recently I wasn't aware/smart enough to fully appreciate the artistry behind the design of this palette. but yeah, you are absolutly correct the 6 normal shades are bulding blocks for the special shades. -I get what you say when you say they arent the best. And it's true they aren't THAT special. I think we need to talk about the intensity of the spark. Indie shadow are more intense and cheaper (more affordable). Don't get me wrong, I get compliments on my eyes each time I use those shades . -and they are sooooo expensive! toooooo expensive, ma'am! Wait on the sales! -loved the swatch party! Now for me these palette weren't about the special shade. I am immune to the hype, I never quite suffer from FOMO, so I hadn't heard of the special shade until I bought the palette myself, hahahaha! I think we've reach point in time and culture where the eyeshadow palette is polymorph. (art object, useable, collectible, merch, etc...) So for me Motherships are piece of art that have a very special place in my collection. They encapsulate the time and the artistry of a bygone era (look at me being all Tolkien and shit) but yeah they are very good but not 120$ good; not in this economy! again thank for the inspo with the looks! see you on motherships 2/5/6 (those that I have) take care 💚

Thank you for your very thoughtful comment! I'm very glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope you enjoy the other Mothership videos too! And I'm right there with you. I treasure my Mothership collection but I think they're massively overhyped and overpriced (except for Midnight Sun which is underhyped, but still overpriced, in my opinion). I will always recommend buying these palettes on sale, or just buy singles that dupe the special shades, if that's what you're after. Thank you for watching! ❤️❤️❤️
