Yes you can shut it totally down by closing the vents and pull the rebate and put aluminum foil in the holes and it will shut it down so you can save your charcoal.

Can the lid be fully closed, or will it sit slightly higher when closed due to the grades? Further, i think i might add a flavor bar for the gas model, because the holes above the burner to prevent it from getting dirty. What do you think?
@romanianredneckbbqАй бұрын
The lid won't fully close with the grates on, unless you cut the hooks off from the lid. The grill grates are easy to clean

@romanianredneckbbqАй бұрын
It won't close down all the way but you can shave off a bit of the lid hooks. It should work great with the original flavor bars
@DS-mb7mmАй бұрын
Does anyone use these grill grates for the Weber Go-Anywhere gas variant? What is your experience? Would you advise using a flavorizer bar in combination to protect the burner or not? If so, would you buy the narrower flavorizer bar just for burner protection, or the premium flavorizer bar variant that almost covers the entire surface of the bottom of the barbecue?
@romanianredneckbbqАй бұрын
It should fit, it specify on the grill grates website

I got the spider venow. I like the flavor of charcoal and wood with the simplicity of a temperature control. I always found the pellets were to weak on smoke flavor to me. I also tried smoke tubes while using the pellet grills.

I have a Weber 26 charcoal and also a kamado joe ceramic grill. I love to cook and smoke on charcoal grills but sometimes I like the convenience of the pellet. Just set the temp and have no worries. Venom is awesome too , I may get one for my 26

You don’t mention what grade the meat is. That size ribeye in Prime (Snake River Farms or Double R Ranch) would cost over $300 for 2. I can’t afford that size. I get the size that runs $125 each. Occasionally I will get a “choice” grade. Choice comes in 3 levels. I will consider the Top choice grade. That would run around $80 per steak. Since you didn’t mention the grade or marbling. The grade of the meat is most important. The grill is just the technical part.

Thank you. It was prime grade from Publix. Nothing fancy, but it was delicious.

The way that knife glided through that glorious lump of meat told me two things. One you know how to cook a fine steak, and second you know how to keep a sharp knife. I started out looking at reviews on the Webber traveler gas grill, but have decided on the the go anywhere , only cooking for two and have always used coal
@romanianredneckbbq2 ай бұрын
I appreciate that. Thank you ! A sharp knife it’s necessary anywhere. The Weber go anywhere charcoal version is better and more compact, you can fit everything inside it for a easier carry out. Good luck !
