On Jan 6 my best friend got his wings and is with his Lord after a year long battle with cancer. When the grief overwhelms me, I play this song to redirect my mind to a wonderfully loving God who now enjoys the presence of my friend. One day he and I will sing this beautiful song of exaltation together to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I'll fight life's final war with pain!!! Says it all!! Save me Lord!

I have never been a bad person and I was raised in a Christian home. When I accepted Christ I was baptized and I recall nothing really changed. No fireworks displays (in my imagination) or the nighttime visit by angels, but I still believed. Later, I became a police officer. During the next 31 years I became a supervisor, an academy instructor, a DARE teacher, and a detective with a multi jurisdictional major crime unit. I have knelt beside people as they lay dying and tried to comfort them and then had to tell their family they had died. I’ve pulled people from burning vehicles and jumped into a pit where 2 gas utility workers had passed out from lack of oxygen and the roar of the ruptured gas main was so loud you had to yell in someone’s ear to be heard. The fire trucks parked a block away. I have investigated so many crimes homicides, suicides, robberies, rapes and child sexual assault cases. We had new child abuse and sexual abuse cases come in daily. So often we had our own detachment of social service employees attached to us. Some of the details that young children described would tear your heart out. Those details, even now evoke vivid memories. Cristian music, contemporary or traditional has been my refuge during those critical incidents. That and prayer, sometimes before, during and after. Because He Lives, I Can Face Tomorrow…Because He Lives, All Fear Is Gone… That says it all.
