Am I the only one who, seeing her squishy spun wool, really wants to trek out to the field to squish Ginger directly?

I wrote this before but have you had a chance to check out any Knitatude patterns? Love her patterns.

So some of this could be my gauge loves to relax during wear and grow width-wise, but I'm nervous about the rayon yarn being able to be bodycon. I made a truboo 3x3 ribbed cami with somewhere around 10% negative ease at my bust and its blocked out to be a loose, flowy cami on me. So I would maybe suggest, once you get to like barely waist length, putting it on try-on cords and wearing it for several hours to see if/how it grows. Don't be afraid of bust shaping though! I'm a huge fan of bust shaping, especially increase/decrease shaping. I also feel like those shiny, slinky yarns like rayon/viscose/tencel drape and grow more than cotton/linen. It's like because the strands are so smooth, the stitches just slide open easier. I have a cotton/linen blend cami in the same pattern and size as my truboo cami, but without the ribbing, and even though ribbing cinches in more, my cotton/linen stockinette cami keeps its shape way more than my truboo ribbed cami. So even though they are both plant fibers, they don't quite replace the same in patterns, in my opinion. I always try to look for similar projects in similar fibers if I'm replacing fiber type now (i.e. you might not find that exact yarn or pattern, but you might find a bunch of similar yarn like truboo used in other tank patterns. Bonus extra points if the project pages mention how it blocks and wears).

I think you handled a disappointing pattern/yarn with grace! As someone who cares about size inclusivity, I appreciate you sharing your experience even when it isn't positive. That color looks great on you and it is darling under the chambray!! Love your podcast!

The qualities of linen and viscose are extremely different. Viscose is notorious for its ability to grow and linen for its ability to shrink with washing and blocking. While both plant based, a cotton or cotton blend would have behaved more similarly to the linen. Top turned out beautiful.

I am so bummed about your tank. From what I can see, it only barely resembles the pattern photo. That is just bad grading, as far as I’m concerned. That said, I offer a gentle reminder that you are an experienced knitter and are well skilled to add short rows where the designer has obviously neglected to include them and account for drape and the weight of plant-based yarn. Not blame, just encouragement. Patterns are a framework we can deviate from to get what works for us. ❤

I bookmarked SO MANY patterns! I’m just finishing the Summer Sweater and just wanted to pass along that I ended up charting the lace pattern. It’s an 8 row repeat, but then the raglan increases are a two row repeat each doing the next row from the lace and you have to repeat the two raglan rows X number of times and at that point my brain was screaming so I charted the lace and did the math so I know how many lace repeats I needed. Otherwise, it’s a simple, lovely knit. 😅

I'm so sorry about your nightmare experience with the Baigneuses top 😢. I think that because your yarn is a rayon with a tendency to stretch, the existing grading issues were made worse. This is why it's crucial that test knits are long enough for the largest sizes to be test knit comfortably because otherwise, you'll end up with these kinds of problems. Edit: I think you'll need to add elastic to the neckline and armholes to really cinch them in, even after you've redone the neckline. I don't trust the fabric will have enough stability on its own.

I know this isn't the first video with it, but I love the pink hair! Not only is it adorable, but I think it reflects your bubbly personality too. Gosh! I am so frustrated! Your book review, weirdly, reminded me of a short story that had basically the exact opposite impact on me- it was a very mundane, slice-of-life type of story with very realistic, "regular" characters, but something about it was just SO well written, so homey and inviting that I was SO disappointed when it ended because I just wanted to live in their world more. In the absence of a specific rec, I _will_ at least recommend you check out some of Helen Oyeyemi's works if you never have; I feel like she always has characters I'm charmed by!

I just want to add - I saw (many years ago) a pair of mid-thigh high, lace stockings/socks that had a little frill detail at top, and a cute but totally sexy ribbon threaded through eyelets. They gave naughty vibes, and I loved the look. A quick Ravelry search and I can’t find the particular stockings, but there are many beautiful options!

I feel you on patterns that are "size inclusive" but not graded correctly... I made a crochet t-shirt that I matched gauge on perfectly, but instead of being a crew neck, it was literally COMPLETELY off my shoulders. Not a little "oh it's slipping off my shoulder", but both sleeves completely off of my shoulders onto my biceps, neckline just above the fullest part of my bust. I've learned to not trust patterns that aren't test knit/crocheted by larger sizes, or aren't at least willing to trade testing for the pattern.
