Hi @Aproudnurse, black shoes with white soles should be fine but best to check with your exam centre, too.

Glad you're finding the podcast useful @Blnziwiizhk8. CD = Controlled Drug and one of the rules of administration of controlled drugs is having one registered nurse present to administer and another present to check and countersign. Happy studying!

For the delayed recall, I was told that the cue and multiple choice were scored 2 and 1 respectively. Was also mentioned that there is a formula to get a score from those points. My understanding of the actual words (as well as this video) is that they get no points for anything other than the no cue answers. I am in the US but, it seems like the test is more or less the same internationally. I guess it is called Memory Index Score.

In a proper hospital setting with a patient who has suffered an acute head injury surely you're going to have an actual NEWS chart to chart their full vital signs plus a separate neurological observation sheet? This just seems ridiculous and backwards to chart this way.
@IELTSMedical
@IELTSMedical Жыл бұрын
Hi @Molly Kwlly thank you for your observations. Thankfully, in the NMC OSCE exam you will either have a NEWS chart OR a GCS chart - not both.

On the BNF where can I see if the drugs contain penicillin?
@IELTSMedical
@IELTSMedical Жыл бұрын
There are clues throughout eg. the BNF entry for amoxicillin talks about all penicillins. Also, the allergy and cross-sensitivity section discusses the antibiotic as part of the penicillin group. In the NMC OSCE, they use obvious examples eg. amoxicillin or phenoxymethylpenicillin may be prescribed to someone with a penicillin allergy and you'd be expected to know that from the name. Hope that helps.
