It's too bad you didn't fall in love with a Merrow, the original overlocker, oil filled from the top into sealed internal reservoir which is not in the table green, all metal, wet environments ready, parts from way back and ugly as hell. After looking at the video, Juki seems like a near clone, with its topfill, and the pressure foot folding out. The merrow, the bed folds out too. However the Merrow uses curved needles

16:37 It really would have helped not to have had that awful background music when you were using the machine so we could hear exactly how the machine sounds

Hi Alex!I I'm trying to decide what is the best size for my Janome Coverpro 1000 mostly for tshirts and tshirt dresses. On Amazon, they give lots of sizes but I'm kind of lost. Thanks for your help. Andrea

The best on actual construction of a garment and not sample fabrics! Thank you. I bought my blind hemmer because of your tutorial and now looking to get this cover stitch. You are really a boost to my confidence level. I’m appreciative from New Orleans, Louisiana 😊

Hello Ginger - Can you please explain a little more about the device attached to the presser foot used to cover seams? You had mentioned this earlier in the video... Also, can you explain about other like attachments for this machine? Thanks!

I have an issue with full trousers in stretch fabric that are gathered to a wide elastic waistband. I have four pairs of these that I bought from a couple of shops online and they need serious adjustment. I want to adjust them as the length of them from crotch to waist is too high, reaching almost to my upper chest, and I need to take at least 3 to 4 inches off of them. Can I do this with a cover stitch machine? I don't know why Target and Kmart produce pants like this, as I am a standard female height, and I think you would have to be 7' to fit them. I have a Bernini coverstitch, a Brother overlocker and a Janome sewing machine. Any advice you can give would be great, as the garments have been sitting in my sewing box for 6 months. I am also new to coverstitch sewing.

Regarding the chain stitch - is it strong enough to be the primary seam in pants and leggings? I’m making pants for my niece and her weight fluctuates a lot. A chain stitch would be so much easier to remove if i need to make them a little bigger.

This video is obviously a little old but regarding the delivery, what you got is known as "liftgate service", at least around here. What it means is that the driver will roll up with a big box truck, move the palletized item onto the liftgate to lower it to ground level, and then leave it on the ground for you to deal with. That's all they're hired to do, and often all they're legally allowed to do. The other class of delivery for large machines (something you couldn't just stick in a cardboard box and use a regular delivery company for) is standard freight delivery where they just roll up with a trailer or box truck without a lift gate, and you're expected to either have a loading dock that the truck can back up to, or a forklift to pull the item off the truck. For large and heavy equipment, if you need major assistance to actually move it inside, you need to coordinate with a rigging company. They're the people with the knowledge and skill to be able to move the palletized item off the truck (for standard freight delivery) or out of the street (for liftgate), take it off the pallet, safely move it into its final location, and get it all set up. It's overkill for a single sewing machine where you're much better off just finding some strong friends to come around to help carry it in for you, but for larger items that would be difficult even for multiple people to lift, they're who you call. You probably would have got some notification about a delivery time window when your machine was meant to arrive. This is when you would have planned to have your helpers come by (friends or riggers) to move the item out of the street.

I love Russian style, both sewing, knitting and crocheting, but I would never dream of supporting the Russian economy because of the current situation with the war in Ukraine. In fact, I believe purchasing patterns from Russia would be against our government's sanction policy.

I found your video because I’m just now making this dress. It looks like you didn’t gather the front bit at the top middle before adding the neckband. Before I did this, the bust line was way to low on me, too, but after that it fit perfectly. I didn’t add the zip either. I’m only 5’3”/160cm and usually a U.K. 10 and the pattern in my usual size fit me perfectly, other than shortening the length by about 1.5 inches (& often things come out too big). Maybe the fabric was the difference?
