this is reaction content done well, whenever I go to watch reactions to the hunger games 90% of it is on their face and them talking and almost none of the movie is shown and it just sucks

The world-building in the movies is EXCELLENT. Katniss is incredibly smart and very clear about all the levels of oppression in their everyday life down to the little things. The movies toned that down but her inner dialogue is filled with observations and things she learns along the way that pay off to help her win the games. Panam is much darker in the books and they explain really well why some people buy into the system, why some are just trying to survive and can't oppose it, why some do oppose it. etc. We see a completely dystopian society only to see parallels with our own. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the kids on campuses today grew up reading the Hunger Games trilogy.

Formidable years are 2-5 years old. It's much younger than people think. Also, I would suggest trying not to elaborate your points too much -- we get it the first time most often. Talking over the dialogue will not help you follow along -- you'll miss a lot.

What you have to understand about Cato and the Careers is that they were raised to be ruthless killers. They really are products of their environment, and in that way, they were victims of the Capitol too. They had no chance to become anything other than what they were, killers with no empathy. That's why Cato says "I'm dead anyways. . . I always was." I certainly don't feel as bad for him as I do, say, Rue, who was sweet and entirely innocent. But I still do feel bad for Cato to a degree. He sucked, but he wasn't given a chance to not suck.

Thanks for reacting to this great movie! One thing about the pushing Shikishima into the alley. The moment was that quick. That's one reason for the slow mo, to show how little time there was to react. That's also reflected in Shikishima's reaction afterward. It was so quick, he thought Noriko would have been there with him. I like how you point out how audiences have come to watch Godzilla fight kaiju, but in this...the human characters are the focus and the audience roots for them.

Princess Mononoke remains my favourite animated movie! Joe Hisaishi kills it with the soundtrack in these movies ♥ The dubs for the most part are usually pretty good but this one in particular I much prefer the original Japanese (the female just didn't hit the mark in the dub). I hope you react to Nausicaa next, the older Ghibli films are really amazing!

Eboshi isn't evil at all I'd say, she is doing what's best for her people and trying to protect them and give them a good life. Yes her methods aren't the best but she doesnt have many other options really. Also she couldn't go back to help Iron town. Or well she could but Jigo wouldn't have gone back with her. So all she would have to help is her and her bodyguard.

This movie is a masterpiece, and yes Godzilla has like 40 movies, he has been villain and hero many times. There is nothing wrong with legendary embracing the hero Godzilla from Heisei and Showa era.

It's quite rare for Kamikaze pilots to run away from their missions. They did that not because of the honorable death or wishing Japan to win the war. But to protect their family and hometown from the bombs. whch caused massive fire which cannnot be extinguished by water because they were napam bombs. When you read their dying letters, you will know this easily. Kamikaze pilots were exactly the same as Shikishima who finally made his mind to attack Godzila with full of bombs in his plane.

This movie made Snow seem way more sympathetic than he actually is in the book. In reality when you read his thoughts he is a complete elite snob who doesn’t view anyone in the districts as real people. The capital people are “BETTER” than all the rest. He is selfish opportunistic possessive narcissistic psychopath. He fancies himself in love with Lucy Grey but nothing he does is for her it’s always for himself. His thoughts are so morally repugnant.

I’m not sure if you noticed later but when Lucy Gray curtsied in the beginning, that was a reference to when Katniss curtsied to the game makers when she shot an arrow at the apple.

Fun fact, in the books, Gale isn't whipped for saving someone, he's whipped because he's caught carrying a dead turkey. Which still isn't a reason to be whipped, but I feel like they really took out a lot of Peeta being amazing and what made Gale not as amazing from the books, while trying to up Gale's look, to make Gale more likable for the love triangle to sell the movies better to non-book readers.

Lucy left Snow because she didn’t trust him. Reminder: the movie doesn’t include Snow’s inner dialogue like the books do. If you watch the movie first, you don’t think Snow’s too bad, but the books show something you don’t get in the movie.

Yeh I don’t think the movie did the best job at depicting snows complexities. He’d often make fun of Sejanus and be annoyed by his preachiness. When Arachne died he found her funeral to be hilarious cos they were celebrating her as a hero when he thought she was dumb and got what she deserved. The final scene in the book is quite different too, cos we can see Snows thought process try and justify him wanting to kill Lucy Gray. Trying to say how she’s dangerous and she’s a victor, when in reality she was just a loose end to him

I was waiting on your review as you seem to already be quicker to pick up the themes around propaganda and war which so many reviewers just don’t grasp or comment on. 😅 One thing from early in your vid about the mentor role - the mentor role was new this year. The students were the top students of their class and were just expecting one of the top students to get the prize. This new role was added as a requirement for the prize that Snow was depending on.

Other than every reactor “ASSUMING” Katniss is in love with Gale or that they are “together” this is what always annoys me the most. When themes and the entire point of these books/movies just goes right over so many peoples heads. When they are rooting for their fav (Katniss) and yelling out suggestions of what they would/should do to… kill… children. They are the Capital citizens. And just looking at the wealth disparity in the Capital vs the districts I don’t understand how people don’t get that the first world we live in is the Capital and all of the war torn resource stripped impoverished countries are the districts. The reactors always act surprised or grossed out by the gaudy Capital clothes and makeup but they don’t stop to think that this how those same poor countries would view our modern attire and makeup and plastic surgery and brands clothes. I mean just look at the damn MET Galla. 🙄 I think people assume if they are not super rich then they must be like the districts when NO you might not be 1% rich, you might even be poor but your still poor in the Capital. As such you are privileged against the true horrors places like Palestine or the Congo or Sudan have to endure on a daily basis because of us or “The Capital”.

When they are saying that the country held life so cheaply it hits hard. The Germans surrendered in March 1945. That was the same time as the firebombing in Tokyo. Italy surrendered in May but Japan would not. It was three months later when they would not stop fighting that we dropped the first bomb. Still no surrender so we dropped the second one. We did not do it for fun. It was to finally make them give up. If they had stopped when Germany did it did not need to happen. Look how these people talk about it. They live in Japan for God's sake. Such needless loss of life.

The “Black Rain” is a recorded phenomenon that eyewitness survivors of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki both reported, a blood-like radioactive substance peppering the scorched earth due to radiation ionizing with a loaded rain cloud. That and the fact that people’s shadows were literally blasted onto the walls and floors where they were incinerated where they once stood by the initial impact are just two of the horrifying phenomena that nuclear power bring about. It’s genuinely one of the scariest things. Look it up, there is a picture of a shadow of an elderly woman, you can even see her cane. There’s another of a guy taking a smoke break on the steps, all that is left is his shadow.

Hi! I’m from Japan and I really enjoyed your reaction! Honestly it was one of the best reactions I’ve seen! You picked up a lot of the subtle nuances that I would have thought only Japanese would pick up, because of the cultural thing. Kudos to you sir! And that being said, did you notice that black thing creeping up Noriko’s neck in that last hospital scene? She’s been infected with the Godzilla regenerating cells. That’s the only reason she survived that atomic blast. She regenerated, thus setting up for the sequel. Also when Godzilla released that atomic blast in Ginza, that black stuff that rained upon Shikishima was called Black Rain. It happens when an Atomic Bomb goes off. It rained Black Rain in Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the bomb went off. There’s a movie too, called Black Rain starring Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia , check it out,you might like it.

Well brother , your reaction is one of the best reactions about this movie so far. I really enjoed your reaction. Whenever I was asked about this movie from my friends who haven't watched , I always told them this is " human drama" it's not only simple monster movie. This is my first Godzilla movie I cried and scared in a theatre. Koichi's scream with black rain was super insane. That scream explained everythig about his feeling. Last thing, I really want you to check Akiko's face in a hospital, her face didn't look like happy to see Noriko again. Her face looked kind of scared. Akiko found something evil in Noriko. Because Noriko infected Godzilla cell ( something black on her neck), that's why she survived and recovered that blast. Anyways great reaction brother !!!

JFYI on top of your great content. What mean “minus one" At that time, Tokyo was completely destroyed in the Great Tokyo Air Raid and was in a period of reconstruction. Then Godzilla appears and destroys it even more. “Minus one” means that. (Even before that, Tokyo had suffered devastating damage in the Great Kanto Earthquake.) Godzilla, who is the metaphor of God and living things, is a metaphor for them, and we are constantly being overrun by nature, war, and pestilence, but we must not give up and fight back! It contains those message in this movie. “Resist and live“ In 1945, The Tokyo air raids killed approximately 100,000 people in one night. After the war, the underground passage near Ueno Station, which was destroyed by air raids, was filled with war orphans who had lost their homes and families. According to a national survey, approximately 120,000 people were orphaned, and it is said that there were more than 1,000 orphans in the underground tunnels. Just FYI The fighter plane that Koichi flew in during the final mission actually exists. "J7W Shinden" The only surviving aircraft is on display at a Smithsonian institution. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyushu_J7W_Shinden Godzilla was born from the nuclear test at Bikini Atoll by the United States in 1946. In 1954, when the first Godzilla movie was made, a Japanese ocean-going fishing boat was caught up in one of these hydrogen bomb tests and was exposed to radiation, and the concept of Godzilla was born from this incident.

Great reaction, and was even happier because of the Tora Tora Tora reference!!! Plus decompression sickness is caused by the precipitation of Nitrogen out of the blood causing bubbles in the blood stream or if you hold your breathe during the rapid ascent the lung sacs basically rupture, Godzilla healing factor overcomes these issues unfortunately!!!
