I understand about the cords not being white. My motherboard is sadly black, but i love the functions, I hust didn't have 300 more to get the white version, haha.😅😅 You can get white extension cords so that it's all white when others see the cords! 😊

Hi Savannah, first of all congrats on hearing back from some houses specially from some of the top 5. That is not easy to accomplish. They get tons of submissions and emails and only truly reply to what they feel is best of the best. So you should feel proud :) Also, regarding working with UK publishers, there is very little difference. The mayor one though is the budget. Budget for advances in books vary a lot between countries and no country pays as high as the US. I think would put UK and maybe Spain in second place and Asia in third. And another difference I’ve noticed but maybe it’s coincidence I don’t know but I’ve felt more freedom when I’ve worked with US publishers. The Art Directors I’ve worked with usually share a general idea or feel maybe but have given me lot of freedom in the creative process while the books I’ve worked with for the UK have had more dirección and more specs as to what they want. And I don’t think is related to how big the publisher is because it’s happened to me with smaller houses as well as big ones like Penguin for example, I think is more a matter of culture. Or maybe it’s been a coincidence hehe. I’m sorry about your mistake with the names in the emails I’m sure you felt embarrassed but I garante you you are not the first one who’s done this and I’m pretty sure they can’t keep track or remember who makes mistakes and who doesn’t. In a couple months they will forget. So don’t feel bad 🤍 Good luck! I hope you get your first book contact soon!

Absolutely love this video! This has helped me significantly with understanding modeling characters! Just as a quick question, how might one approach modeling legs? Do you apply a similar technique to that of the arms, or do you have a different process?
@savannahlazo
@savannahlazo Ай бұрын
It is pretty much the same process as the arms, but you just have to shape the legs differently. Its honestly not even that different than the tail :) I would recommend extruding a straight cylinder down and block out the foot, then you can go back in and add edge loops where you need more control over the shape (like the knee). Hope that helps!

I'm in my mid-twenties and I feel so behind, hearing about the layoffs is not helping my anxiety 😭 I've also been trying to find other creative hobbies but I end up feeling guilty for not focusing on illustrations. Funny enough I also tried crocheting and that didn't end well. I recently bought air dry clay which I think I will be more successful at since I have experience sculpting in blender. I have yet to build a portfolio so it feels like I have a lot to do. It was nice to hear about your life and how you are dealing with problems :)

Thank you! I totally get all those feelings as well as someone who is in their late 20s. I’ve had some air dry clay sitting in my desk too haha maybe j will break it out. I just try to remember I’m doing the best I can and if I’m not having fun being creative it’s ok to take a break and I don’t always need to be working on something. It’s hard for sure!

I loved seeing the process and how you talked through it! The result is lovely and very inspiring! I liked more the previous hand drawn types you used for the title. This last one feels too ‘modern’, I think. Something a bit more delicate and that references old decorative types might be more suitable in my opinion.
