For your chickens, get a kiddie pool, place about 4 to 5 bricks in it , put about 5-6" of water in it. Be sure to place this in the shade. It will take them a little bit to get used to it. 😊😊

@@danielbrannon9513 I sometimes use voice to text on my KIndle Fire because it's too hard to type on it. I actually put my response down using voice to text, and the first time I tried it, I was going to say something else and I used the word 'mule' and it showed up on the Kindle as 'meal' So I wonder if that is what happened with that original post. Still for the original post it came out to be very humorous. And I hope the original poster understands I wasn't trying to be mean.

Grass has higher sugar content during daylight hours as well when it’s absorbing the sun. You can pasture him at night and the grass is dormant with lower sugars.

You can also try putting him out at night vs. during the day.. sugar content in grass is at its highest when it’s absorbing the sunshine. Just found this out myself you can research it as well.

... Your field is too hot you gotta seed something that will cut down on the clover and vetch. Or just keep your animals off pasture when it's too hot. I once had a friend who ran cattle and he would run cattle through first so the horses wouldn't see so much protein intake chewing in shoots.

@@COUNTRYSIDELIVINGWITHUS Bacillus thuringiensis. It's an insecticide. The worms eat it, and the bacteria messes up their digestive system. They will stop eating and die. So if you spray your leaves, they will nibble a bit, and then once ingested they will stop. I use beer traps too, but that really only works on slugs. I haven't had horn worms yet, but I did have a couple cabbage loopers on my tomato leaves. I sprayed and haven't seen additional worms or signs of hornworms yet. I am not sure how long the application stays before a respray is necessary, so I just monitor the leaves. I doubt it has much to do with my basil, because the plant is only 3 inches tall at the moment; haha.
@petersoos498
@petersoos498 12 күн бұрын
@@COUNTRYSIDELIVINGWITHUS BT is short for Bacillus thuringiensis (kurstaki strain). It is a natural soil born bacteria that when concentrated and applied to plants has the ability to shut down the digestive tract of most caterpillars. Caterpillars have certain receptors in their stomach that the bacteria attach themselves to and cause the caterpillar to stop eating...eventually killing it. The liquid is named Thuricide and the powder Dipel. It is labelled as organic. Bees, earthworms and most other 'good' insects are safe from it's effect. It must be ingested by the caterpillar before it takes effect. Spraying a caterpillar won't kill it until it eats some.This works on cabbage worms and most all of the caterpillar garden munching varieties. Personally, I spray every other day or so for a week upon finding my first caterpillar and then once a week until my season ends. I live in a hot climate and I really have cooler things to do than play "Night Patrol" hoping to find them. I don't have much rain during my gardening season so I find the spray to be best for me. A tip, whatever you mix up should be used up and not saved as the bacteria die off. I also replace my small bottle every year. Hope this helps, Happy Gardening Everyone.

Fix the chicken coop and run so fox cant get at chickens. Get a chicken friendly dog. [ my pompoo is protective of chickens not saying that the breed to get]. Lots of other options, try using brain. No killing fox and babies, it's not the best choice. Thats the lazy ass temporary choice.

@@COUNTRYSIDELIVINGWITHUS I am glad you won't kill foxes. Thank-you. There are people who think that's the fix for everything. I do know how sad it is when any of my birds, livestock or pets get hurt or killed. I take it personal ,[ personal that I failed to protect.]. Here I rise a variety of ducks, chickens and geese. Local predators> eagles, hawks & owls, /tiny weasel, mink, & Badger/ bobcat, cougar & wolf. But even storms can be a threat. Lost a runner duck to hail pelting it to death. Best of luck & best wishes , security of lives is serious business.
