I’m fortunate to live near Junior. He plays concerts here often and several have been free with the cost of admission being non perishable food for our local food bank. Great person, and he has an excellent band.

Davy Flett here. My Dad and Grandad recorded this on 78 rpm in Aberdeen Scotland in the fifties. I fall short of their witness in my life. However I love my Lord more every day. Praise Jesus my Saviour , redeemer of a wretch like me.

Funny how: 1) this shreds even harder than her original version and 2) everybody in the video looks dated (hair, clothes...) but Emmylou.

Agreed, this faster tempo goes so hard. And Emmylou is timeless!

One of the best performances that you'll ever hear. Unreal sound they had for just a 3 piece band. Where is IBMA on inducting this into the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame of Owensboro KY??? Give them the recognition they deserve.

It would really be great if it lined up with the Bible.... God didn't search heaven looking for a worthy sacrifice. God didn't send Jesus down and then call him after the fact to tell him what he wanted him to do. Jesus was the lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world. And he didn't die from the spear being thrust into his side. The Bible says that blood.... and water came out after he was pierced. This is what happens naturally after death when plasma seperates from the blood. Jesus would have been dead at LEAST half an hour before they pierced him with the spear. No one took his life from him, he lay it down for us. Because he had the power to lay it down, he then had the power to take it back up 3 days and 3 nights later. Hallelujah!

Bluegrass gospel at its very best one of my favorite bluegrass gospel songs entitled the old time Preacher Man a group called The Blue Moon Rising makes me think of Stanley shook or brother Danny good old time Preacher Man Who preach the word straight and strong who are here to help us if we are just willing to listen to an old time Preacher Man amen.
Wonderful singing! I wonder how the Big K was able to out there without a hat?

Awesome! You guys make me cry with this old Little Girl and the Snake song of the mountain people. My grandaddy was a coal miner in West Virginia and later he travelled Nordth with his whole family during the Great Migration to work in the Michigan oil fields. He probably knew over a hundred songs and would sing just like this and play his mandolin. So many Americans dont realize that THIS MUSIC is their roots - to their grandparents famlies going all the way back to immigrants in the orjginal colonies. Theres nearly always a mesaage in these tunes - do you hear it in this one?
