The best SC towns to move to are located in a 50 mile radius of Nashville TN

Good heads up en route for those looking to move to the Charleston Area as a Hurricane appears set to stall out over the entire State for a few days Savannah as well actually. Both Cities sit on or around large River Basins at or near the Ocean and sometimes these river Basins can be quite ferocious. Pays to literally level up when building even around all of South Carolina actually but especially lowland areas.

Have any of these prices ever made sense ever in South Carolina? Brand new Supermarket on Lady's Island and went to Publix next door and looked like they were ready to go BK. They do have a brand new Publix in Beaufort tho. Feels like 2022 collapse is back on suddenly 2.0 here now today August, 2024.

I live in Orangeburg. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except an enemy. It has a few good places to see. But that is all. Too much crime. I know the Security Guards at the college and university. Lots of crime and drugs go on.

I live in South Carolina and Bennettsville is a definitely a very affordable option. Some would debate that the smaller towns straddling the Georgia border such as Abbeville, Varnsville and Bamberg are more affordable.

I wish we could tax the Yankees more in North Carolina too! They drive like f***ing assholes, bum rush you in stores, and have no patience nor social etiquette! Maybe a tax would discourage them from moving here and encourage them to gtf out!! I can’t stand them! They’re making life more rude and unpleasant here.

I see a lot of comments about crime. I don't have "Stats" but I believe no matter where you live crime is a thing everyone has to deal with. I lived in Travelers Rest, SC and had bought a brand new 10x12 Trailer. Had it about a month and a half. Went to the grocery store one day about 2:00 p.m. Was gone about a half hour. Came home, pulled into my driveway and thought, "somethings not right", looked to my right and "damn, wheres my trailer"?!! Poof! Gone! Even the lock and chocks were gone! So was over $2000!!! Now also understand my driveway where it was parked was about 600 ft from the road. I did the police report and the Officer who took it said his trailer had been stolen also! He said trailer theft in SC was rampant. (Never got my trailer back!) But I have to say since we moved to SC 13 years ago that's the only "crime" we ever experienced. We moved away to a different town in SC about 6 years ago. Moved to an area that's on a dead end road in the boonies. Closest fast food place is 12 miles away. I have 3 different security camera systems so I can see pretty much anything that occurs on my property. Plus 2 dogs, one being a 120+ German Shepard. He eats anything...including any potential bad guys. Plus I'm retired Military and SC is Military friendly. And SC is weapons friendly. Big plus. And to conclude, I have lived all over the world (Military brat) and in 24 years of Air Force service have lived all over the US to include the North, South, West, East and all the way up to Alaska. We loved Alaska but work brought us to SC. So far this has been a good place to live (Upstate) and no plans to move. People by and large are pleasant and courteous. Prices are ok compared to other places. Utility prices stink but could definitely be worse. My Son lives in Hawaii and his are double or more ours. My Daughter lives in California and yep, prices way higher than ours. Water prices are crazy low here. We live about 7 miles from the Georgia border and their fuel prices are usually about 30 cents per gallon higher than ours. But their roads are much, much better than SC's. SC roads stink! Worst I've ever seen.

Congratulations.....you have officially posted the longest comment ever on this channel ...my hat is off to you. 😁 I can't comment in my videos or here about crime rates, as it it against fair housing policies. Hummm.. No mention of crime which is super high in all these towns. Dillon is the most dangerous town in SC. Cultural richness = mostly black. This guy is a bit untruthful. Do your homework before you move to SC. Don't trust anyone. Do the work yourself. Crime is the most important followed by flooding if you are looking near the coast. Mortgages and common sense requires flood insurance as well. Out of all these towns Newberry is most likely your best bet. It has an interstate for fast exits from South Carolina. Reminds me of a joke What is the best thing out of Florida - Oranges What is the best thing out of Georgia - Peaches What is the best thing out of South Carolina - I95 Truth be known, I love it here. I'm 20 miles inland in a zone that has never flooded and I am well armed to cover crime. I've never had even one occurrence of either. Knock on wood. But I'm seven miles outside of town where the "Cultural Richness" resides.

Thanks for your comments. I am glad that ultimately you like living here. When it comes to certain topics....well, this will kind of explain things: Neighborhood Crime Rates: Specifically, if you ask a real estate agent about neighborhood crime rates or even whether or not a particular neighborhood is a “good place to live,” they won’t be able to give you an answer. This is because information about crime rates or the opinions on the safety of a neighborhood can be interpreted as references to race or ethnicity, both of which are protected under the Fair Housing Act. Instead of providing you with direct information on a community’s crime rates, a real estate agent should refer you to the proper resources to find out these statistics for yourself

Love Charleston, SC but I’d give Georgia the nod. Mountains, coastal Georgia, beautiful inland lakes, and a modern metro area to enjoy all the major professional sports. From any where in GA it’s easy to make it to the ocean or gulf. I’m partial to the North Georgia mountains and have a home here. Regardless, Charleston and Greenville SC are wonderful places too.

These may be the cheapest, but who wants to live in a small town with high crime rates. Dylon, SC ranks at the top when it comes to all other small towns in the US. Orangeburg is horrible as well and all these towns have one thing in common.....a high percentage of a certain demographic of people causing most of the crime.
