Sounds like a standard electrical fault, super common it seems. Since uploading this video I’ve learnt the water gets into my switches on the handlebars so I now ride with mittens covering the handle bars to stop the water getting in. In your case check your fuses under your saddle and also check all electrical connections.

Sadly not but it’s worth doing as I did have corrosion. I located the issues with the electrics to be due to water getting into the indicator switch on the handle bars. I now use handle bar mitts and since installing I’ve had no more issues but I’d love a more full proof solution to stop water getting into the switch. I thought about silicone but it’s a moving part so wouldn’t work. Any ideas?

Did it resolve the issue I tried it didn't work for me

@@rikkigreen1372 sorry this didn’t work, I have also found a new fault where the water gets into the indicator switch and shorts the lights etc. I now use muffs to waterproof the switched.

@@Shaunsm You should be getting this fixed by Sym as this is a known widespread issue with the Jet X. If your bike is still under warranty you should be raising merry hell as your bike is unsafe.

@@overcorpse I have contacted them and they said cause my oil change wasn’t done by a sym registered garage my bike is out of warranty. Absolute joke considering it’s a complete separate fault to the oil being changed.

@@Shaunsm The only option I can think of is to contact your local Trading Standards or speak to Citizens Advice. This is a factory defect which needs fixing regardless of being in or out of warranty. Losing your indicators or headlights because of rain is ludicrous. I had a chance to buy a 10 month old Jet X with 900 miles for £2200 and was seriously considering going non-Japanese for the first time ever. Now I know why it was going so cheap. I will be giving Sym a wide berth from now on.

Lucy Baker I have an annual pass and am lucky enough to only live 5 minutes away. I’m still not bored of it and I’ve been about 6 times already to see the lights and tree.
