The sliding clamps wouldbe better for the lifting Sven, as they are more compact and less likely to distort under load. The other clamps failed because of the extended length of the threaded part which was less able to withstand the load, it seems they deflected first and this caused them to slip.

Smaller are definitely stronger. I bet the clamp screw can be straightened.

You could always go with a narrow chord dagger board forward that has significant depth capability. It doesn't seem you should have to be adjusting it continuously, so maybe going forward to reach through and adjust would be fine and you'd have alot of range to adjust the CLA. (This is just a consideration in lieu of a pivoting type to simplify things)

A problem with that is that it will interfere with the sail in the up position

Dear Sven, Glad you and the boat are ok! Your scale model is one of the best balanced and simplest boats I have ever seen! I like its size, its sheer, its sail plan, and how it can sit on its keels and skeg. I miss those keels! It seems that removing them and using chine runners is forcing you to add the centerboard in the stern. Perhaps it is not worth the shallower draft? Kind regards, Ken.
@MiQBohlin
@MiQBohlin 4 сағат бұрын
As far as I understand the “centreboard” is planned to be up in the bow, not in the stern. The skeg in the stern will balance this.

While it was accidental, the slipping and falling was an indication of impact resistance of the boat. Good to see no damage occurred to the boat and to you. Thank you for the update, sir and have a good evening.

So the unscheduled stress test was successful and better still you're not back in hospital with a broken foot or leg.

I think it is very good. I sailed a chinerunner 2011 to Martinique. 2018 an other to Madeira. 2020-2021 The latest boat similar depth 150 days offshore in northern North Atlantic, no problem. It will be OK

What to do with noisy neighbors. I use earplugs, but it's not for everybody. Also, I guess old apartments distribute a jungle dance base beat better than my camping gear.

Dear Sven, what was the reason for reducing the draft of the chine runners from the model?
@SvenYrvindExlex
@SvenYrvindExlex Күн бұрын
Less resistance and more shallow draft. The chinerunner is also a swim ladder. Now the step is not to deep

The bow board have a purpose. Moving the center of lateral area forward so that I can make the rudder deeper. Making the chinerunners deeper will not achive that.

Happy birthday Sven! Keep up the great work. Ive been really intrigued by your manifesto. Especially your insights on how many people misunderstand life. I came across it on your website and would love to hear more about your perspective on this. If youre up for sharing, Id be excited to see you dive deeper into that topic in a video. Looking forward to the next update on your boat! Cheers!
