Thanks so much for this well produced video! Is there anything significantly different working with 2d animations here, or will the same principals and techniques apply?

Aw! This means a lot!! I'm glad the video is useful! 🥰 For 2D, Layers don't really matter for frame-by-frame hand-drawn art. However if you are doing 2D Character Rigging, then Layers can be used, however the concept of Avatar Masks won't be of any use. So I recommend not really bothering with Animation Layers in 2D. It's not really worth it, I think.

Focusing on Programming is a huge deal! And I wish you all the very best! Feel free to reach out for any help or advice! As someone who has tried to learn everything, and tried to master everything to perfection, I am finding it extremely difficult to start, as some things become too easy for me that I never do it. And the thing is I am nowhere close to perfection on the things that I have learned. The good news is that I am slowly and steadily trying to get back to being an amateur! I hope you will find peace in whatever you do, and more importantly, you have fun doing it! Cheers!

@anandev
@anandev 22 күн бұрын
Yes Definitely! But One thing to keep in mind, is that you should give maximum input to chatgpt, for it to give an accurate response. Write a couple of paragraphs with your doubts and problems, related to a specific task, and send it to the AI, so that it has more information to process, and it usually gives decent results.

Hey Dusklight 🤩 Good to hear from you ♥️ It's good to hear that you are experimenting with Godot, it's a fantastic engine! Yes, I am still working on the game. It's a heavily mechanical game, for Android, so there's a lot of back and forth. The core game loop is done, now the game needs polish and UI. There are a couple of other people working on it as well. We're working on Unreal, and it's going smooth. We will be making another KZfaq channel (all 3 of us together) and just specific to Unreal. So that we can teach on various aspects of our game, how we made it, stuff like that. But I will be posting stuff on this channel about the game as soon as it's ready!! I hope I will get to see what you are making soon as well 😍

I have a question, when I instantiate the mesh, do you know how to align them perfectly each other? Because I was trying to make a railway, and when I start a turn, they're not aligned together to make a smooth turn...
@anandev
@anandev Ай бұрын
To make a smooth turn, it's not currently possible with Splines 2.0 unfortunately 😭 I don't know why they haven't tried working on that feature which is extremely useful! Let me see if I could do something about it, make a custom script with it or something. It might take a while, If I do find a solution, I'll come back to this comment and will let you know.

@@anandev Would you be able to link some articles or blogs for us to read to move beyond the "cheat code", so we would know what to do when shipping actual games? Thanks!
@anandev
@anandev Ай бұрын
@@omlachake2551 Sorry I couldn't reply sooner, I didn't get notified of your reply :( I personally learned all of these things from here and there and through my 6 years of playing around with the engine. I would argue the best thing to do is to actually ship games, and see what works for you. Using Layers is purely meant for separating animations based on different body parts, and mostly nothing else. There's more we can do with Sub-state machines (An advanced approach will be shared in the upcoming video, please watch it if you can when it comes out, and let me know if it was helpful) and Run time controllers, and even manual Cross Fading through Code. Because there is no "one right way" to do it, it is really difficult to link you to a direct solution, because it doesn't exist. However, you should definetely consider Unity Learn, and some Udemy online courses. When it comes to animating things, I think experience is the best teacher. I think as long as the player experience doesn't get disturbed, anything works. Hope this helps!

If you create a mesh and then use spline extrude, it actually updates the mesh file itself. If you want to make changes, and if you did not have a copy of the original mesh, then all data is lost.
@anandev

It is better to create complex meshes in Blender itself. Right now, Spline Extrude is only useful to create pipes.

Bro thanks for existing😊. This video made it so simple to grasp the post-processing concepts. Never thought it would be so straightforward to setup, so I always tend to corner from it but thanks to you man. Also I have a question what if I want to override the local effect over the global one,how could it be achieved. Do I need to always have global volume like base for local volume or I can just work with local volume as well. I know this questions are pretty noob, but there's were you come to rescue. Let's get next video on scriptable objects and object pooling. Have a great Anand😇.
@anandev
@anandev 3 ай бұрын
Yo man! I'm glad the video is useful!! To override the global volume completely with local volume, one way to do it would be to create a custom script, and because local volumes use triggers, we can do OnTriggerEnter, get the Volume component of the Global Volume, and set the weight of that volume to zero. I don't know if there is another way to do it. Probably we could deactivate the GameObject, but to blend it, it might be better to animate the weight slider, that's why I showed animating the weight slider in the video. I should have talked about why I included that in the video now that I think about it. Having a Global Volume is much better because you can easily tweak things. If you have multiple local volumes, then you may have to tweak it for each Post Processing Profile. If you need Post Processing only on specific areas, then I think it's best to create one local volume, and then add multiple Box Colliders (each set to Trigger). Now you only need to tweak it in one place. Or you can re-use the same PP Profile. Also thanks for the reminder I completely forgot about about making the video on Scriptable Objects and Pooling!! Currently I'm a bystander in the hospital, (one of my family member is hospitalized)... I'll start making it as soon as I get back!! 😀 Have a good day buddy ♥️
