Undoubtedly a masterclass and literally the best video for pulleys on the internet. I can't find words on how to thank you mate <333

Can't we just use H = 1/2g(t)² where H is the maximum height, t is the total flight of the object, and g is acceleration sue to gravity

I built a magnetic brake for an old analytical balance I had. You don't have to wait for the oscillations of the beam to die down.

Centripetal. The ring provides a normal force vectored towards its center, hence center seeking aka centripetal

All motion wants to continue in a straight line. If you are feeling a gravitational force while moving, it's because you really want to go in a straight line but there is some thing making you turn. And you are feeling the acceleration of the turn. If the turning force should be diminished then you would go straight.

The question is, what force is acting on the ball to send it perpendicular? Is it A. Centrifugal force, or B. Centripetal? The lack of reading comprehension on america is so pathetically sad

I believe that one has a vector aimed toward the center and one has a vector in line with the tangent to the circle. The force isn't an actual thing. It's really just the result of momentum. But the motion of the object is described in the math with those forces.

You have no idea how much this has helped me. I've been having problems with multiple pulleys like those in problem 5 & 6 and I have national exams in a week! While watching this video, something clicked and I was able to calculate everything myself perfectly without looking at your calculations. Thank you sir, I really appreciate this.

I have one doubt toward your work, when it comes to the simplification of trigonometrics, I saw that in the 17:50 section of the video, why you simplify into 1/(a^2) rather than 1/a? Could you please interpret a bit? Thank you very much!
