Hi, I am also making a S550 hexacopter using pixhawk 2.4.8. I am using a R9MX OTA receiver and X9D plus 2019 Taranis transmitter. I am able to spin my motors using pwm channels of receiver but when i am connecting the receivers SBUS out port with the RCin pin of pixhawk the motors are not spinning. When i am switching my transmitter on and it connects with the receiver, the pixhawk is showing an error sound like it is in your video at 36:48 minutes. Can you please help me with this? How can I contact you?

@@karmayogi5531 hi, so are you sure the signal wire on receiver is on sbus out and not subs in? Secondly the signal wire on rc in Port of pixhawk is connected to the bottom pin and middle being power and top being ground so the order of wire is correct? When you hear the alarm sound do you see the error message on mission planner hud screen? If the above steps are correct then it's mostly like the sbus protocol for receiver is not set correctly in radio. Do you see channels active in receiver menu of mission planner?

@@RakishRc yes, whatever you said, I have done all these things correctly. I am able to arm the drone but motors are spinning automatically, i am not able to control the motor speed using transmitter throttle stick. I have calibrated the radio transmitter again and all the channel bars are moving...this means pixhawk is receiving the SBUS signal from transmitter through receiver. I think there is some settings I need to do in mission or in transmitter to take control of the flight controller. Can you give me your whatsapp no. or any email id?

Great timing! I just got back to setting up my pixhawk and lost all of my old work. Your video with the newer firmware and mission planner version saved me a lot of troubleshooting time with my power module. Thanks for keeping this old tech's resource material up to date!

@@spacemoses0 glad to know this was helpful...I was sceptical whether to post this series or not...but since I had purchased this setup a year ago and had it pending I decided to complete the project and upload. My aim is to experiment with autonomous flying using the telemetry module.

I can't tell you how grateful i am for this post. I still use my gopro hero 5 and decided to grab a karma grip off ebay. It wasn't updated and wouldn't work with my gopro at all. I couldn't figure out how to do it until this video. I went down the rabbit hole and found this video at 2am. Did it first thing when I woke up and now everything works! Again, very grateful and much thanks!

Why did not you change the front and back spring to hard one . I changed mine spring was always compressed so i changed from black to silver one . Why didn't you??

Are you using latest mission planner software? Try to use an old version of mission planner and select download firmware option when updating firmware...you'll need to download the firmware file manually from arducopter website and then flash the file.

45amp stock esc is more powerful but the 35amp hobbywing esc is more balanced. Search for hobbywing 30am esc it's the same

Great video man. What’s your experience on the durability on the diffs with these cars? I might get one but I really don’t like changing diffs often. I would drive on 3s

It's definitely durable and handles a lot of abuse. Just that it's a bit tedious to work on because of the screw positions and small size to work with overall. Diff you can use 10k or 20k oil if you're planning to run on 3s. But overall I really like the robustness of this model. Check my running videos of this car

True...apm boards are outdated and the pixhawk series are still receiving updates but not sure for how long. Although working with these boards is a lot of fun. Pixhawk 2.4.8 is still very reliable and used a lot due to mission planner's host of options for waypoints and gps flight modes 👍

@@RakishRc correct! Latest pixhawk flight controllers are very expensive but this is the only one having all the necessary inbuilt sensors and bunch of ports to connect bunch of modules you like, also at a affordable price.
