Awesome. Thank you for the review. I went with the color ones. Why? I live in Alaska. It’s DARK! The white light on the colored ones is bright enough. But mostly I use the “red” , which is really pink. White attracts the mosquitoes, unofficially the Alaska state bird 😂. Again, thank you for the the excellent review sir 👍👊🏼

@MWDAdventures I know right. Size, features, then price. When we take a look at them in person this August in CO, I'll ask their rep about custom options. If they can't, I'm sure I can get a local company to do some custom work.

That is awesome! I was able to go white water rafting down the New River and under the bridge in high school with the BSA Venture Crew! My teacher got in big trouble for taking a BSA van instead of a school system short bus and for going out of state and not filing the correct paper work and liability stuff. but it was a heck of a trip! That is going from Charlotte, NC. Glad yall had a great trip minus the rain!

Towing at night and while it's raining! You guys are much more brave than me! I think the 4Runner and Taco (what I have) have the same motor. I get an average of around 15mpg pulling my Hiker too. Sometimes a bit more depending on terrain. WV is sure pretty. I spent a few days at New River Gorge NP after driving the lower part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and snaking my way west back home. Great video as always.

Great scenery driving through WV. Haven't been through there in many years. The Wall kits for the 270 awnings are a game changer (imo) when it rains a lot, or just for some shade from an intense sunny day. Have only used the rear wall so far.

We purchased the Mark 2 a/c earlier this year to use in our 9’ Hiker Trailer. We recently used it for a 22-day camping adventure that included warm humid nights in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma with evening max temperatures reaching the mid-80’s. We stayed at AC (electric) provided campgrounds and would begin cooling off the Hiker cabin about an hour before bedtime. My wife and I had no complaints at all about being warm overnight and we even turned airflow down from mid-range to low setting in the early morning hours on a couple occasions. The Mark 2 seems effective in removing humidity as it would on average pull out 2/3rds of a gallon of water overnight. We bought our Hiker to get out of the Texas heat in summer, but I am considering a campout in the driveway to see how the Mark 2 holds up on a sweltering summer night when using its battery. One lesson learned is to confirm the Mark 2 is positioned 5 to 10 degrees nose high (per the manual) or you will have a big water mess in the morning.

Thanks for the tip on angling the Mark2

Will this cool my trailer in 110 degree Arizona heat or is it just a high end fan?
@MWDAdventures19 күн бұрын
It sounds like it will cool it down 15-20* and remove the humidity. I won't expect it to make the trailer comfortable in those kind of day time temps

Yeah I would be curious how well it works. I have thought about the redneck option on using a Sam’s club window shaker and placing it in the drivers door sandwiching the door with plywood and placing it in there and I saw somewhere that someone placed a window shaker in the galley pass through… I liked that idea but not sure how well it would drain. Climate Right was the right answer for most of us if it could have been lighter and I wasn’t tent camping when they went out of business…

How much is that unit and do u have a link

They don't make this unit anymore. The current ones we have seen are the ZeroBreeze Mark2 or the EcoFlow Wave2

At $600 this is rather expensive when you could buy a straight awning from Hiker for $300.
@MWDAdventures17 күн бұрын
These are easier to put up with one person than the straight awnings. Plus the dome shape helps shed the water. We had damage to our straight awning due to a renter not lowering a corner and the awning filled with water and bent poles.

You are not helping the pocketbook! I looked at the Zero Breeze at Moore and the sales guy didn't really sell me on the unit. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how well it cools the Hiker. I've heard mixed reports on (based on the temp outside) how well it cools even a space that small. Some had said it only cools about 15 degrees less than outside temp. I'm probably going to pull the trigger soon on something as MO summers are HOT!
@caver629222 күн бұрын
How much condensate does it produce? It looks like it works in a simpler manner than the wave 2 that has to be set to make it drain away from the unit. It seems to be far more intuitive regarding the controls, etc....Thanks for the review!

Nice to see one of these set up properly in a teardrop. I will be interested in if it helps for sleeping at night. It is not designed to cool the camper during the day.
@major__kong23 күн бұрын
The newer ones are heat pumps that will do both heating and cooling. I looked at these things last year but decided not to buy one. To make these things run all night without wall power, they need a huge battery, something like 2+kWh. And that's on the low setting. Good luck charging that with solar the next day unless you bring some larger panels with you. And what if it's cloudy the next day? Also, the other company, whose name escapes me, designed their system so you need their battery. If you had a spare 48V battery laying around, or found a cheap 48V battery, it wouldn't work because their unit needs to talk with the battery. I think there's a way to use a non-OEM battery with the Zero Breeze but I haven't confirmed that. If you have electric hookups, it would be much cheaper to jerryrig a cheap Walmart window air conditioner with ducts. These things would have to come way down in price before I would consider buying one. If humidity is the big effect, I would see if I could find a dehumidifier I could make portable. They're probably a lot cheaper than a heat pump.
