Nice that you review it. The thing is that half of the melodies cannot be heard because of the live sound. So in the studio version there is a lot more to explore. You have a very nice way of explaining and teaching the audience. \m/

Floor crescendo vocals were there and became more and more powerful as the song proceeded along. Although subdued under the more dominant instrumentals, they were prominent enough. There are other mix versions where Floor’s voice is audio enhanced if that’s what you were looking for

This certainly has gotten me very interested in what else the album might surprise us with, since as you said, the beginning of this is indeed rather reminiscent of the intro of Music, yet unlike that song, this one is not the opening track of the album. So there must have been a reason it was placed in the middle of it...

In the future, I wouldn't mind some more analysis. Most reactors are not capable of dissecting compositional things, so it would be an interesting and fresh angle.

Tuomas said this and the two previous albums form a trilogy, so sounding similar is not a huge surprise.

For me the song is a combination of Elan (with much better chorus) and Tribal, all with a very muddy mix where the orchestration is over everything else. As you said, nothing really new... and a little bit too long. Hopefully on the album will be something more interesting. With Floor...I think that Tuomas uses her as just another instrument that can express anything he writes because he knows that she can sing it. But if I would like to hear something where she really shines, I have to go to After Forever or Revamp and this didn't change it.

Shoemaker and...dozen other she shines for me....

@@BigzampanoXXL She is always 100% in what she is supposed to do. But as I said, this is almost Elan 2.0 and I can't stand Elan... I would really like to hear her vocal melodies at least, but that is impossible.
@BigzampanoXXL2 ай бұрын
@@janmaule606 hallo, i understand. Nevertheless Tuomas has a clear idea what he is doing about mix. We have to respect it, even we do not like it, it is not always about ourselves. And ELAN: i have a quite different feeling, i think they did it well on video and live. i like Elan in the way they delivered. It was a important song on my marriage...so I am biased. Floor: i love her especially when not to poppy. I can not stop to praise her for many different reasons. I prefer her singing on nearby each NW-song.

Its never long enough. I have watched it at least 40 times, lol, it grows on you. So much to hear each time. Im sure other songs will have Floor in the foreground more; they wanted more of a choral of our ancestors singing to us from the past vibe. 😊

@@anthilmusic Absolutely 😂 You should definitely do analytical videos from older Nightwish songs. Nightwish fans love to hear thoughts about compositions. It doesn't even have to be complicated and long. Things you pick up as a composer. I'm sure lot of fans would be interested about that. Greetings from Finland!

I concur, even a follow-up video after Perfume of the Timeless has grown on you, and you have some more observations to share would be nice. I noticed the more extensive orchestral instruments and choir presence in the music. Troy's last simple part with Harp, low strings, big double bass?, and low strong piano chords really got me. Loved that. In All the Works of Nature that Adorn the World, Tuomas loved using the Harp in the mix. Perhaps you could do a review of the Fan music video with the full orchesteal piece, even if you heard it before.
