There’s a bit moments before the beginning of this clip where Jax prepares to take the call. Rat, the Prospect, goes to stand up, to leave the full patches to deal with the situation, but Jax tells him to stay. Regardless of Jax being his sponsor, that shows a lot of respect to someone not rocking the 3 piece.

that look that they all gave each other after galen left, they knew they were dealing with another jimmy o, if not a worser monster in galen, luckily for them jax and the rest of redwood did them the solid and kept their hands clean of it. also jax allowing rat to sit at the table all but confirmed that his patch-in was coming soon which of course it did.

This is hilariously bad. It's so weird to me how big the IRA are in American dramas. Sure, they had allies in the Irish American community in the US, got some funding and weapons through back channels etc but they weren't the Irish equivalent of the Corleones. Their influence and reach in the US was tiny and was geared towards ensuring the means to conduct operations in the six counties and the UK. The notion that they'd have a feud with some random American biker gang is ludicrous. Oh it makes for good TV I suppose and I guess most Americans don't really have much of a clue about the IRA and won't be bothered to check for authenticity but as an Irish guy, I find the whole thing utterly hilarious.

The actor Charlie Hunam copied the persona of a Real 22 year old Biker who wore white Nike sneakers (who had died)......this is who the "Jax" character is based upon.

As someone from Ireland who's been IRA adjacent with family ties, the whole IRA plot in this show was utter nonsense. If they'd portrayed the IRA as a British intelligence operation masquerading as Irish revolutionaries, then that might have been a little more accurate.

The IRA and MC had a strong relationship in the show dating back decades through John Teller getting in good with the Irish and establishing a charter in Belfast to help run guns between Ireland and Northern Cali. From the show's storyline, it makes sense. Just two organizations seeing major profit.
