At 6:06 on your video....where did you get what looks like a hitching post with that fabulous lantern? Is it electric? Wonderful focal point. Is it available for purchase? I am in midMichigan-how far North are you in Wisconsin? I am also getting a green house and wonder how your heating in winter is going? We are now listed as zone 6A (from 5). Are the fans you put in your green house effective for you?
@SeasonalDesignsbyDawn
@SeasonalDesignsbyDawn 11 күн бұрын
That is an electric lantern. We purchased it at a local light store here in the Milwaukee area. My husband made that post for it to hang on. We’ve had it here now for 30 years so I’m not sure if it’s available but I’m sure there are ones like it out there. I am in south east Wisconsin. We heat our greenhouse with the stove and a supplemental greenhouse heater for the cold nights. However, we shut it down in January February, and March and really don’t add any supplemental heat unless we happen to be out there on a sunny day in the middle of winter. The fans are fabulous to have fans to either push air down or pull air out. Good luck with your Greenhouse!

We take a gallon of water, jalapeno, whole garlic crushed, chili powder, Chyenne pepper and simmer it on the stove for 1hr. Strain let cool then mix in 2 beaten eggs. Set in the sun for a 1 or 2 days. Put in sprayer and apply to hostas or flower that the deer like. So far it been working. Reapply after a rain. Got this recipe from a fellow gardener

Yeah try egg yolk in water for your hostas I use three egg yolks in a really large size spray bottle and then water and shake it and you just have to do it like one time I have 30 yards at memorial Park in New Kensington PA and I've been doing it for years now and it works really good so try it they don't like that egg yolk it goes down into the pasta and that I think that's why you don't have to keep doing it sometimes I'll do it one more time but usually just the one time have a good day I love all to your show okay bye

Hi Dawn! Your gardens are absolutely stunning!! 😍 So wish I lived closer to WI so I could tour your beautiful property in person. What’s the variety of the purple salvia at 3:37? It’s such a deep purple…just gorgeous! Also, did you end up removing the burlap and cage from your new Eastern Redbud tree? I also noticed the root flare isn’t exposed or did I just miss it? I’ve learned that making sure the root flare is exposed and not covered by mulch is very important for tree health. Happy gardening! 🌿👒🪴
@SeasonalDesignsbyDawn
@SeasonalDesignsbyDawn 19 күн бұрын
Hello!! The salvia is Wesuwe. Yes we removed part of the cage and burlap and rope. The root ball is enormous and heavy so the lower portion of the cage and burlap are still there. Otherwise we’d disrupt the root ball and that’s not good. I’m thinking it’s why they are telling people to leave it on. And yes definitely the flair is exposed. Correct very important!! Thanks for the comments 😊
