You said Labradorite, but, the video is saying rhodonite. Will this work for rhodonite?
@AstrogeoJay
@AstrogeoJay 25 күн бұрын
Sorry for any confusion, if you watch the video I do polish rhodochrosite (not rhodonite, that's a different mineral) the labradorite was just to show that was the first one I tried hand polishing. Rhodonite has a similar hardness to labradorite so i think it should polish well using the same method.

Could you please explain how to set the aircraft for ils approach and landing? I have frequencies in the radio, I have approach in the FMC. I have pressed the approach button, but nothing happens. No diamonds no glide path. Nothing. Really confused and tried everything 😔. Thank you for any help.

Hi, what version are you using? when I made this video was a very early release, I have actually forgotten how I did the ILS approach, i think i used my radio panel which is an external hardware. there have been quite a few updates since then, I have only just uploaded the latest build so have not yet flown it. Do you have Discord, if so I highly recommend joining the Delta simulations server as you can download the latest builds from there, well you can get a link from there, also lots of people including the development team to give advice.

Hi there! Thank you for uploading this video. I thought I might have an iris quartz but now I'm not sure. I picked a Las Choyas geode at the state fair and they cracked it open for me. I was taking a closer look at it when I got home and noticed that some of the crystals have a rainbow-colored surface but the colors are fixed while yours look like the colors change depending on the angle. Here's a short video, if you're interested in taking a look. Maybe you know what they are? kzfaq.infoh1fpAUFe_L8?feature=shared
@AstrogeoJay
@AstrogeoJay 11 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for your comment. From what I can tell the rainbow effect in your quartz looks to be caused by light being refracted/reflected from internal fractures. In Iris quartz it's still light being refracted/reflected but the cause is is different, if you are interested here is a good article which explains it far better than I can. www.gia.edu/gems-gemology/spring-2017-iridescence-natural-quartz

@Sara-gl8ue 11 ай бұрын
@@AstrogeoJay hi there! Thank you very much for the response. I'm familiar with how internal crystal fractures look and this is definitely not caused by fractures. It looks like the surface of the crystals are coated in something that is causing the rainbow effect. It looks similar to aura quartz.

That was so cool, JJ....thanks! <3 Although you should have flown more over the city....you missed seeing the Citadel completely. I think the harbourside has changed somewhat since that sim was made (or maybe it is just the fact that a goodly portion south and north of the "old bridge" (the most southerly one) is a Naval Base...and of course, north of that there is the 'shipyards' (where they build vessels)...North of the the most northerly bridge is one of the container ports. Still it was fun to see the harbour from a different vantage point...I mostly see it from a bus window on the bridge(s) or from the ferry deck. :D
@AstrogeoJay
@AstrogeoJay 2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it, some cities are more accurately depicted and the ones that have photogrammetry are outdated because the sim uses Bing maps which don't seem to be updated to often. I was trying to keep a certain degree of realism that's why I did not do any aerobatics over the city but I might just do a little sight seeing tour, either in a helicopter which is the perfect thing for sight seeing, or my Optica which is a strange looking British aircraft especially designed to fly slow and has great all round visibility, its like you are sitting in a glass bubble! will be interesting to see if there are any landmarks that are recognisable. It's actually the first time I have flown in Nova Scotia.
@mericanadian101
@mericanadian101 2 жыл бұрын
@@AstrogeoJay That explains a lot (Bing, I mean)...the most useless thing on earth (or off, for that matter)...Bing maps, Bing translate, Bing search....they all suck dead donkey balls! I'm guessing the flight sim is microsoft....gods forbid they should make use of Google. First thing I do when I get a new computer (and I just got a new laptop a couple of months back) is change everything from microsoft over to google! Love Google search, maps, translate (not always 100% but definitely a million times better than bing), and of course Chrome as my browser. I even get rid of whatever office-type software is installed, or at least hide the icons so I don't have to look at them LOL And then I install open-office.... If you decide to do another flight over NS, let me know...would love to see it! :)
@AstrogeoJay
@AstrogeoJay 2 жыл бұрын
@@mericanadian101 Yep it is Microsoft, someone has made a thing so it can use Google maps instead of Bing but i have not tried that yet. I will most definitely do another NS flight, probably in a helicopter so can get some closer look at some of the landmarks. I don't think Halifax does have photometry details so anything recognisable won't be 3D it will be flat!

Good job! How did you align your primary flight controls rudder and especially elevators mine does not work on the C-17 any work arounds. Thanks!
@AstrogeoJay
@AstrogeoJay 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, I was having a problem with my rudder at first, it was twitchy, i discovered my stick control has a twist ability that can be used for rudder, even though I had it locked it was still creating slight rudder control inputs whenever i was using the elevators and ailerons, so i disabled the rudder control from the stick as i have rudder pedals and that fixed that problem, but I think your problem is something different, its worth checking to see if you have any other controllers with bindings for the flight controllers.
