I suggest you actually study the Somme attack rather than repeat the common and inaccurate understanding of the battle.

Thanks so much for this excellent video. My great uncle Charlie was among those 3rd Bde diggers ashore in the early hours of the 25th April, a member of 10th Battalion. To see so many names that he would have fought with has been quite surreal, in a very good way. Very much appreciated 🇦🇺

Murphy's a genuine hero... Something most present day Republicans don't have a shred of in their DNA.

"why didnt they just try to go around?" well they tried that earlier in the war(only it was the Germans that tried it first)... that was why they kept creeping into northern part of Belgium and ended up near the sea.

My biggest curiosity is always why naval invasions into northern Germany weren't the strategy Then I remember how gallipoli went, and I realise that it wasnt going to happen
@Germanator7 сағат бұрын
Because the blockade seems the better way then an attack. Germany had a strong navy and submarines that would give a very strong resistance. Germany avoided a confrontation and put his navy more defence.

Fascism and anti Semitism will always be defeated no matter where and when it attempts to begin or how it attempts to be disguised. All honor and respect to our Allies and Resistance fighters.

Because they could not ID the body there is a good chance that Peiper could have faked his own death. With the celebration going on that day it would have been easy to do. I hope that was not the case.

In the first waves, yes, later reinforced by the New Zealanders and some Indian Mountain Gun batteries. Watch the whole film for the intro of the Kiwis to this battle

I was drawn to this because the Battle of Passchendaele means so much to us in New Zealand- October 12th 1917 was single greatest loss of life in our nation’s history. In addition I have family living in Abbots Langley, and I will share this wonderful video with them. It brought tears to my eyes… thank you.
