☹List all of the issues such as lower thirds with custom logo graphics and backgrounds that do not work. Remote calling functions with terrible guest audio that has not worked correctly with promised updates like the Mix Minus feature that was added months after Franks and Broadfield Distributor lied about the false advertising for this featuret. The software is buggy and crashes all of the time. Vertical videos stream show setups and template DO NOT SAVE!!! Multi-cast live stream shows using Yololiv's premium stream services will not save your show templates, settings, images or videos. This is a half-baked product that was launched before it was ready. Hi @onemansstream - Thanks for watching! I am glad this was helpful. MERGE opens up a lot of creative possibilities beyond it being a Transition. Unfortunately, the animations in GT Title only cover transitions on and off and changes to data values, so they couldn't be leveraged for this use case. Adding more sophisticated capabilities both in animations and what you can do with Pages in GT Title would be a great update for vMix 28. Take care! -john

Hello there. I'm an Motion graphics designer, I work with after effect to creat stunning (custom) lowerthirds to my clients. is there a way to implement those L3rd to Vmix ? or any motion graphics design for that matter ?
@StreamingAlchemy
@StreamingAlchemy 15 күн бұрын
Hi @mounirammi - Since any input in vMix can be used as an overlay/lower3rd, it is possible to build up layers on an input to construct advanced lower 3rds that are not possible using GT-Title alone. You can render elements in AE as video loops, import them into vMix to use as a base layer for a lower 3rd, add a GT-Title to a layer above it with dynamic text and static image elements, and then add any other media assets to the layers above that to complete the composite. You can also use the MERGE approach from this video to dynamically reposition elements in the lower-3rd if that is part of the effect you are looking for. While not as sophisticated as some very advanced graphic rendering systems, the flexibility and simplicity of this approach is hard to beat - especially considering the cost. Thanks for watching! -john

I just acquired a LinkPi Enc5-v2 from aliexpress. It has 5 hdmi inputs, 1 hdmi output and a usb. It allows all kinds of streaming so im still getting to understand its full capabilities. The video has been very helpful in understanding srt. Ive tested it with NDI and it works well but ot has SRT as well. I bought it to act as a video "stage box" so could have just a single ethernet cable running to my switching rig. It really is a very interesting bit of kit. Nobody on youtube is really covering it. You should check it out. Its being produced by a huwawei subsidiary company so it is a bit lite on the English documentation why may be why its being overlooked by our community.

Hi John , thanks for everything you do to make us broadcasters lives easier ! A question I do have , do you know if there is a way to export data out of vmix from a title - I.e reverse source per se . I’d like to be able to capture a match score as an example which is manage in a vmix title and save/export out of vmix into excel or google sheets
@StreamingAlchemy
@StreamingAlchemy 15 күн бұрын
Hi @ProVideoGuyYT Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch. We recently did a show covering how to create a file with KZfaq chapter markers (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/erllfqaIrtOZmYk.html). For that we pulled data from a GT Tile (which was populated via an external data source) and wrote it out in the specific KZfaq Chapter Marker format to a text file. While not an exact match to what you are asking, the basic concept should apply to extracting the score data from your title, and then writing the file out in a CSV - a format that can easily be imported into a spreadsheet. I know there are also ways to use the Google API to write to a Sheet file directly , but I would need to do a bit of research before I could offer more details on that approach. Hope is is helpful. Best, -john

A really interesting show thanks and one which makes me wish I knew more and felt more confident about networks and IP. Being a late comer to networking it feels a bit of a dark art. However you didn’t mention if it would be possible to have this board and a 4 hdmi/SDI video input board hosted in the same machine? At the moment I’m using hdmi/NDI HX converters to go via the switcher and a direct approach would be useful when working mobile. Is there a solution to use this board in association with a laptop and Vmix? Would it be less taxing on the GPU? Many thanks really useful hands on information.

Hi @Gitago - Dynamic values are just text storage slots. If you need to store multiple values in a single Dynamic Value, you can write them out and read them as an XML formatted block. This will require a bit of scripting to make it work but is definitely doable. We did a show that covered this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i7yaq6Zh3bOwqGw.html Good luck! Best, John

@StreamingAlchemy

Audio issues are difficult to diagnose without a lot of context. If the issue you are dealing with is related to noise in the environment you are streaming from, using something like a noise gate or expander could help. Another approach could be using a unidirectional microphone on a headset - something like the DPA 4066. If the noise is more electronic or distortion based, you will need to work through your audio signal chain to find out where you are either amplifying noise with a low signal level or clipping because of a high signal level. Good luck tracking this down! Best, John

This is often because we lack the general context or framework needed to map them to real world requirements. @StreamingAlchemy 3 ай бұрын
Hi @GregoryyM - If you were to do this using triggers (which is definitely possible) it would limit your flexibility in using the inputs individually outside of this "introduction" use case. By separating the logic from the inputs by using scripting instead of triggers, you can then load any of the inputs into program and merge between them manually without triggering this sequence of actions. However, when the introduction sequence is needed, you can easily trigger the script. You can also create other scripts to manipulate the same inputs in different ways if desired. Hi John, Is it possible to use a data source such as google sheets to reference a hex code to use the settextcolour function? unfortunately, vmix only allows to change an object's colour via the data management
@StreamingAlchemy
@StreamingAlchemy 4 ай бұрын
Hi @benjones8046 - You can do this with scripting in a bit of an indirect way. Using the standard vMix data mapping with Data Source Manager, you can map the data in your Google sheet into a GTTITLE. You can also map the text color VALUE into a filed in the TITLE and just keep it hidden. You can then use scripting to read the values inside that title (They are part of the vMix XML), pull out the color value, and call shortcuts to change text color attributes in the TITLE using that value. We did a series of shows building out a Quiz Show framework that leveraged this concept to pull data from viewer comments: kzfaq.infoFlmJyuE9mes Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! -j

Hi @benjones8046 , When vMix is running, it updates XML that contains the state of all of the inputs and other data associated with the active vMix Preset. You can access it here: localhost:8088/api This is what we read and parse from our standard scripts to get any state related to vMix. Here is a snippet of XML from a GT-TITLE input: <input key="c7b24c4a-541f-4a72-8c9b-d6a2755f77eb" number="19" type="GT" title="GBTitle-Guests" shortTitle="GBTitle-Guests" state="Running" position="0" duration="0" loop="False" selectedIndex="0"> GBTitle-Guests <text index="0" name="NAME-GUEST1.Text">Frank Hawkins</text> <text index="1" name="NAME-GUEST2.Text">Open Seat</text> <image index="0" name="Image1.Source">521c5919-cc8b-4807-9c6c-4769ee889bf4\vMix Capture 29 September 2023 17-26-57.png</image> </input> You can see from this that I can see the value of all of the named items in the template - In this title you can see two guest names and the values assigned to them. You can simply turn visibility off for any item inside of the GT-TITLE but still have access to the item. The image in the above XML is actually hidden - it's a background image we used to layout the text elements. This is how you would assign the color value - create a not visible item and map the color value to it in Data Source Manager, then use a script to read it and change the color of any other item in any title using that value. I know there are a fair number of steps to execute this, but hopefully this clarifies a bit about what I was saying. Best, -j
