I accidentally stumble upon this lecture. I don’t comprehend every part of the entire conversation. It sounds very abstract to me. Nevertheless, I get the theme of this message: Dealing with the loss of the loved one. I have not experienced losing someone whom I love deeply. I only miss my father once in a blue moon when something leads to my thought about my childhood. I don’t have much time to look back though. I look forward. I can imagine that the best way of healing the loss is to think of the positive side. Hmm! ‘God has His plan. He takes my loved one to His side to serve Him. I have to continue to live my life pleasant in God’s eyes. So I will go to Heaven someday to reunite with my loved ones, my family. ‘. I imagine Heaven is a much joyful place. The deceased become angels in Heaven and they have Heavenly relationship with God alone. They don’t have a desire to return to the earth. I think the mourners are feeling painful while they hold onto the past. On the other hand, the deceased are living happily as angels in Heaven. Would it be better to keep busy to do what God wants you to do while you are still on earth? When the time comes, you will meet God in Heaven and reunite with the family members and the loved ones in Heaven. According to the Bible, the relationships in Heaven are different. There are no marriages in Heaven but only the relationship with Christ and Jehovah God through Christ. I dreamt of Heaven before. It is really a paradise in my eyes. I told God not to wake me up next time. I still wish God to take me to Heaven, so I may not deal with WWIII or another pandemic. I don’t know when God wants to take me though. So I keep myself busy at work and travel during my time off. In 2023, I booked the trips for 2024 and 2025. Now April 2025 is approaching. In a few months, I will return to Maldives again. Don’t think too much about sorrow. Keep peace and joy in heart and trust God. Trust God that He has a plan for you and wait on His plan. Maybe, God wants you to continue teaching or do other things. Pray for the answer. Mourning is not useful and not helpful. So it would be better to live each day as happy as can be.

Thank you, Brother Wilcox, for your candor. Dealing with my husband’s passing in February, I hear so many of my “heart thoughts” coming through in your words. And I think our paths may have crossed in Boulder in the early 1970s when I was called to teach early morning Seminary after my mission. (Soeur Indermill) I do have one question. It might be answered in your podcasts, but I haven’t come across it yet. Thanks. Lorraine

Thank you thank you thank you!!!❤ I have been plateaued for a while with my scripture study. I am consistent but was lacking knowledge on how to get more out of it. I have been a member for 14 yrs and sometimes I get frustrated with my progress. "I have been a member so long why do I still feel like I am a new convert still trying to figure this stuff out?!"😢 Then I stop compairing and let the Spirit guide me and I find this 😮🎉! I followed the bread crumbs and found progression❤. Thank you again😊.

I wish I could figure out how to "think and think and think", or ponder, at all. I don't know if it's my cPTSD or if I really have ADHD, but my mind just goes off wandering so easily. Somehow I managed to get a 3.67 GPA at BYU without learning a thing. I don't remember much at all. Oh well, I do the best I can with what I've got.

I've loved doing the topical scripture study whenever I've been in the temple. It helped me to better understand the washing and anointing ordinance, and has helped me find different things I need to work on to improve myself, and give away my sin little by little. Such a great help.

Thanks for helping me to know what to do with the list of all the principles I found in the Book of Mormon as I studied it. I tired to think of applications, but struggled with doing it. I think I can do better now, and I'm sure I'll find more principles as I continue to sudy.

I found Chapter 6 when I was a young mother and asked to give the lesson for the Stake Activities leadership meeting. I thought, well, what is the purpose of activities? When I read that the fulness of Nephi's intent was to bring people to God, I ws thrilled, and based my lesson on that. No matter what we do in the church, from spiritual things to temporal things, we can have our eye single to the glory of God. Our enjoyment of our brother and sister's company or our family or personal scripture study can be done in a way that helps bring all of us closer to our Savior and our Heavenly Father.

I interpret mind abscent heart to be Lucifer, Christ to be heart, Mind heart Coherence one with God and hands to be any materializing embodiment thereof. However I'm thinking that in this context mind is history and historical theory, heart to be divination and hands to be practical covenants... Are we still on two sides of the looking glass or somewhere in-between Melchezidek's Corridor? Honestly i think the only gap is neoliberalism. Some misunderstandings only exist as a byproduct of neoliberal applicably imposed values. For example "hands" might mean being one with time space and motion - sky, land and sea... But because of neoliberalism it could be your work routine with going to Church on Sunday... Its the implied layer of the looking glass.

it's imporant to remember the BoM is a made-up fantasy tale, definitely not something to take seriously. it is a 19th century comic book where they added fake years and dates to make it look more official, but we all know it's just made up.

Also, all the words of Christ can't be found in the scriptures. All His words can't be contained within all the book so the world. After we read the scriptures, prophetic revelation and personal revelation are continued words of Christ.

This is so very helpful, thank you so much! I have a question - you mention Jacob 1:8 is a verse that you spent over an hour on. I would LOVE to know your process... on how you literally study that verse... what you did, how you did it, were you just pondering? Or were you looking up things? I'd love to know... as I think that is a key issue for me. What do I literally do when I come across a verse I want to study...?

I feel like if you had such a profound spiritual experience feeling overwhelmed that 'All you had to do was give him a Luke 24 experience' you would probably remember what you spoke about. That really feels like some spiritual grandstanding to me. And this kind of lesson really makes people feel like they're never good enough. Like sometimes my scripture study is fine. I don't need to improve it. Not only is it telling me how to worship, it's telling me that the way I'm worse thing isn't good enough. And whether that's your intention or not that is the message that's received.
