Interesting stuff. I'd suggest adding posthog over mixpanel/segment, same product analytics with a bunch of nice extras thrown in like session recordings plus it captures events automatically

You may add caching now when you finally have customers, add search bar instead of ctrl f, add advanced search as a button like dropdown in the search page . Remember that simplicity is key, this will make the user feel comfortable. People can be 40, 50 years old that we as devs forget sometimes. You’re doing a good job.

Very inspiring to see your app getting customers 👍 One note about search and analytics: I have a feeling that you might regret making seach in stare, not in searchParams, because analytics tools don't collect that data by default. I am working on a nextjs starter kit and I have implemented search with searchParams, so you might see my implementation someday 😊

How does communicating with the API work, guessing the request is made in the backend, but what if users are requesting similar data, how do you handle that without the back end having to keep fetching the same data, caching?

the advanced search is a great feature but i think it would be a better implementation if it was an option in the normal search bar/screen, like a + sign with "advanced search" so when a user clicks on that it shows those additional filter parameters. Also being able to search the sic codes/text without having to use ctrl+f but have a built in search list> But overall amazing product and amazing to see how far it has come🙂👍

This is a great point/question and something I am very aware of. As I split my time between freelancing, building interlu, marketing both and this youtube channel I don't have too much time... so everything just does take longer. Having this validation is a step in the right direction and in other positive news I have had more requested features which I think will really improve interlu's value prop! @JacobSargentTech
@JacobSargentTech 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and great question - so they have a streaming service which you can provide a start date (which you put the date of the bulk download in) and they will stream all updates from that date and all updates in real time once it's caught up. So you end up with a full up to date DB of uk companies. Hope that makes sense :)

@@JacobSargentTech Oh nice, thanks for the quick reply. There are some interesting ones in the GOV.uk API catalogue actually. I have a partial collection of the full db focusing on some particular SICs. What happens if I link that up with the streaming service? Would it be possible to only update the matching records in my db? I have never worked with streaming before.
@JacobSargentTech

Yeah so you could just set it up to filter events only matching the companies you already have. Obviously there’s a bit more to it than that! Hope this helps!
