If I could go back in time and have a conversation with anyone it would be little Edie. I admire how she used what resources she had to create some of the most memorable fashions.

Philip Seymour Hoffmann naied TC in the move "Capote".
@Twentythousandlps3 ай бұрын
Watched this back in the day. TC was odd, but rather charming and likable here, whereas Tom Hollander in Feud gets the oddness, but not the charm or likability. Which makes it less plausible that he would have the hold on the rich that he had.

I came across this video during my search of the Maysles brothers' documentary of Truman's Black and White Ball. I didn't realize that this documentary even existed. After having watched Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, I was curious to know what the real Truman Capote sounded like and what his mannerisms were, and discovered that he wasn't nearly as dramatic with his right hand often up in the air as he was portrayed by Tom Hollander. Even though I found FX's series to be quite depressing, I found it very well done. My search for the documentary of the Black and White Ball continues!
@artdeltoro3 ай бұрын
The documentary on the Black and White Ball is purely fictional and was dramatized in the series. Truman's gesture of raising his hand, portrayed by Tom Hollander, was as dramatic as depicted, possibly because this was an interview setting rather than a casual social interaction, lending itself to a more posed demeanor. Hollander's performance was truly exceptional.

If you know it, I'd love to hear you sing along This is one of my favorite songs of all time It's called Fast Car You got a fast car And I want a ticket to anywhere Maybe we make a deal Maybe together we can get somewhere Any place is better Starting from zero, got nothin' to lose Maybe we'll make something Me, myself, I got nothin' to prove And you got a fast car And I got a plan to get us out of here Been workin' at the convenience store Managed to save just a little bit of money Won't have to drive too far Just across the border and into the city And you and I can both get jobs Finally see what it means to be living See, my old man's got a problem He live in the bottle, that's the way it is He said his body's too old for working His body's too young to look like his So Mama went off and left him She wanted more from life than he could give I said, "Somebody's got to take care of him" So I quit school and that's what I did You got a fast car Is it fast enough so we can fly away? Still gotta make a decision Leave tonight, or live and die this way So I remember when we were driving, driving in your car Speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped around my shoulder And I, I had a feeling that I belonged I, I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car We go cruising, entertain ourselves Still ain't got a job So I work in the market as a checkout girl I know things will get better You'll find work and I'll get promoted And we'll move out of the shelter Buy a bigger house, live in the suburbs So I remember when we were driving, driving in your car Speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped around my shoulder And I, I had a feeling that I belonged I, I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone And you got a fast car And I got a job that pays all our bills Stay out drinking late at the bar See more of your friends than you do your kids I'd always hoped for better Thought maybe together you and me would find it I got no plans, I ain't goin' nowhere Take your fast car and keep on driving So I remember when we were driving, driving in your car Speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk City lights lay out before us And your arm felt nice wrapped around my shoulder And I, I had a feeling that I belonged I, I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone You got a fast car Is it fast enough so we can fly away? Still gotta make a decision Leave tonight, or live and die this way Thank you!

wow. been a fan of this song since i was in my early 20's in college and heard it for the first time. and i was living in a small town thinking i'd never get anywhere. it made me know i had to escape. i did escape. i moved to LA and had many adventures for a long time. and now this song comes back and reminds me that it helped fuel my escape and my exciting life. it's as sweet hearing this version as meeting an old friend. so beautiful. tracy looks great and her voice is so velvety as always. just love that luke combs has given this song to a whole new audience. it's such a sad sweet story-song. just beautiful. thank you to tracy for giving us this beautiful music. and like others have said: let this song be the spark that pushes you to follow your dreams and become something so that your life is fulfilled and happy. ❤
