how to differentiate between the male and female gourami?
@gekosrock1999
@gekosrock1999 Ай бұрын
When do the males typically develop that dark stripe? I've got a group of four currently and three of the four absolutely have *SOME* white on their belly, with yellow sides (one has a fully white belly), and one whos belly is solid golden yellow with no white. I just want to make sure I dont have any eye gouging in the future

Mine do. I started with the eyes of the dried krill for pea puffers. The eyes closely resemble small snails. Takes some time for sure

You need substrate and some live plants. They like to dig and they like to hide in plants.. you got none of that. All you have is the mop threads for egg laying.

Love these little guys. Right when I got mine they were very active, breed like crazy, clicked all evening and were just a joy to watch. Got a extended power outage at the house due to winter weather and lost them all and most everything else (multi-day outage with no way to heat the house) I'm building a new tank this year and I'm going as huge as I can. 125 gal just for them and maybe some CPD or EPD for the schooling. Going to give the tank a few months of plant growth and some shrimp a head start. But these will be the centerpiece. They're just such a perfect fish.

YO RESPECT! I keep my fish in quarantine for 3-4 months to avoid camellanus worms OR I just treat them for camellanus worms for no reason (the dosage is too harsh for most plants).

Seen people say feeding too much krill is bad cause thiamese ? What’s ur thoughts Seth?
@BecauseYourFish
@BecauseYourFish Жыл бұрын
Good question! I would think a vitamin deficiency could become an issue if krill was the main food source. I like to supplement with krill and add additional vitamins to the krill as well. For these puffers, I recommend live snails as their main food source. Thanks for the comment and thanks for stopping by.

Hi Seth, just found your channel, ty for doing a video on these little guys, was wondering if you still have any? Was also curious to know if you sell/ship fish, I have been on the search now for over a year in trying to add some of these guys to my collection, I also have a rare wild type so if you were open to trading, I have the Goodea Lyonsi (live bearers on the CARES list for endangered in the wild) currently on the CARES website Classified as CEN-Endangered Species facing a very high risk of extinction in the wild in the near future (includes species on the ALA list (2) shown as Threatened).
