In terms of raids. Raids only last between 1:30-2 minutes, but you have to be in the raid area for this timer to go down, if you are anywhere else, the timer will freeze. The only exception is wolf raids, as the timer will decrease even if you are not there. This is because you do not have to be near bass structures to trigger this raid. Also, whilst the timer is active, no matter how many wolves or mobs you kill, they will respawn. Each different raid has a mob cap of a different amount. Wolf raid is 7. So if the message displays and you kill 4, in about 5 seconds you will have 7 on you again. Best strategy is to run around and wait until the message disappears signaling the end of the raid to start attacking them, as that is when they will stop respawning

A couple tips: -Weapons The silver sword is the best weapon in the game at doing holy dmg, and will serve you well vs the undead goblin boss, but is very expensive to upgrade. The Frostner is however the best generalist weapon imo because it has great stagger, does blunt dmg which is not resisted by much, has holy dmg vs undead, and has frost which slows enemies down when hit, but also does bonus dmg to the enemies in the ashlands. It can easily carry you the rest of the game if upgraded. Making even a basic lvl1 huntsman bow can be worthwhile, as I'll mention below. -Armor Don't bother wasting silver (initially) upgrading the wolf cape, the lox cape has the exact same frost resistance while also being easier to initially craft, as well as only taking lox fur to upgrade. You can use your huntsman bow to help separate one lox from the herd without alerting the others, since it has a hidden bonus that reduces the noise its arrows make (You can also use this feature for goblin encampments, or tar blobs). I'd say it's worth making and upgrading the fenris leggings, as well as doing the same for the root harnesk, as you can pair them together with a sturdy helmet to get an all-round great mixed set. The root chest heavily resists pierce dmg, which will help tremendously vs deathsquitos, goblin archers, goblin spearmen, and various enemy types in the Mistlands (You can also make a serpent tower shield to help if necessary, it also resists pierce. The meat isn't bad either!). The leggings offset the negative fire resist of the root chest, while also mitigating the speed penalty. The helm is simply whichever you have access to that has the highest defense, as none of them have a speed penalty to my knowledge. You can easily ditch the mixed set once you reach the mage armor stage, or just replace the head/pants with mage gear. -Enemies If you find yourself being hunted by wolves again and in need of some breathing room to regen hp, just pop down a crafting table and jump on top. They won't be able to reach you, and you can even repair it or pick them off with a bow if need be. I'm really liking the series so far, it's very comfy. I'm a little curious though; for the last parts that will focus on filling out the map and leveling skills, will you be skipping most of that grind for the viewer, or do you have something like podcast talking points lined up to fill the dead air?
@Ziti_Sauce
@Ziti_Sauce 17 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for the tips! I've heard good things about the root harnesk, but feel like i dont have much trouble with deathsquitos with my current armor setup, and i dont really want to sacrifice anything that helps with slash/blunt damage for it. although no speed penalty does sound really nice... I'll probably make a huntsmans bow once i have more iron, seems handy. I have a serious run-in with loxes in a future episode that's caused specifically because i tried to lure one with the draugr fang lol. Nifty trick with the crafting table + wolves, ill keep that in mind. For the grindier parts im not quite sure what ill do. it'll probably be a lot of off camera stuff, but maybe would considering live streaming it too if there's interest. That feels like a long ways away though!
