I recently loaned my this car to my son in law, he filled the tank at a small town gas station. The next day, I was driving him to the airport and noticed I was only hitting 24 mpg, I added some fuel cleaner and let the tank get almost empty and filled it with premium gas and added another bottle of cleaner. That was a few weeks ago. Now I'm getting the 34-38 mpg again.

1.5 lift and the tires added a half inch so about 2 inches higher. I drove mine for a while with the stock xse rims and tires (18 inch rims) and it wasn't to bad. Good luck man!

I'm about ready to do this to our 2019 hatch as well. I won't be putting flaps on, just the lift and tires. Stock is 205/55R16, 24.9" diameter, new tires I think should be 205/65R16, with a diameter of 26.5". Your 215/65R16s appear to be 27" diameter, so the 205/65 should give 1/4" more tire clearance than yours. Thanks for the "case report" with this combination! Where we live, there are some speed bumps and dips large enough to ground out the front of the car (especially our driveway, which we have to take at a significant angle), and a 1.5" lift + 3/4" more from the tires will be a very nice addition. Did you have any issues with the tire pressure monitoring system?

@@jawraw777 UPDATE! Got the 205/65R16 tires installed WITHOUT the lift, and it rubbed over smallish bumps and acceleration uphill. I removed the plastic parts that were rubbing, and now it only rubs on the little metal flange behind the tire, with significant bumps unloaded, or moderate bumps with the back loaded up. I'd like to grind away part of the metal flange, so it doesn't rub at all. If that fixes the rub, I may just not lift it - the tires provide a nice little lift, that works for us.

Yes, the metal flange the plastic part bolts onto, behind the wheel. It's immediately behind the plastic rectangle you cut out.

It's not bad, the roof rack made more noticeable drag and slowed me down more than the tires and lift. The body roll is not noticeably different.

This is the best (and only but it's really good) video I could find on lifting a new corolla, glad someone else also had the idea to lift one these things, let alone make a video, so thank you. How's the ride quality and MPG?

Thanks, I'm glad it helped someone. The ride quality is good but the mpg dropped to 30-32 mpg at best which kinda sucks. The speedometer is also off by 2-3 mph so if it says 50mph I'm actually going 52-53ish according to the speed signs in town. But over all it's a great upgrade if you like going off road. @@jawraw777 MPG as indicated by the car? Given the same REAL mpg, car-indicated mpg would have decreased by the same percentage as the speedometer change. So if your speedo changed by 5%, I would expect a 5% reduction in car-indicated mpg as well, because the car thinks it's going 5% less miles than it actually is.
