You are right, but from what I’m seeing the LLs are in the actual groove right before the fill/phrase he’s showing

@@johngarvey803 the notation embedded in the video is all wrong & out of synch in the pattern... if he's playing double LL on the snare, WHICH HE IS, then it should be notated, or the notation should be taken out entirely.

I’m not saying you are wrong; I just didn’t see LLs within the actual phrase the video is meant to showcase (notated at 2:39). Where does he do this?

@@johngarvey803 not sure what you're referring to, i'm referring to STARTING @ 0:51 the pattern includes double LLs on the snare, which is what i posted right at the very top.

There are no doubles on the snare, it’s a snare followed by a flam using both the snare and hats. It sounds like a double but technically the notation at 0:51 is correct

I completely understand the mechanics but one of the things I find hardest is identifying the unevenness, and then connecting that with the cause to fix it. I always assume that the second note will be the quieter, and work on making it louder to ‘even’ it up but there comes a point where I know I don’t sound the same as a professional but can’t quite figure out why…

Did anyone else have a problem with this tecnicue and have to take it very slow? My foot was so slow on the forward slide I could only do 60-70bpm. I feel like theres a part of the technique I'm missing.
