Elgar was suffering from depression and had no reason to compose, a friend and possibly his agent visited him often and encouraged him to write music. Elgar, grateful for his German friends help named this piece Nimrod who in the Bible is referred to as a “ mighty hunter”,his German friend,s last name was Jaeger which means hunter.

In my mind’s eyes, I see Winston, speaking the words,” We shall never surrender.” Words that spurred the world’s Allied response to the totalitarian governments of madmen.

Not only the hymn of the Royal Navy, but also the one for the U.S. and French Navies. Well, technically the U.S. has 2 songs that represent the Navy, this and “anchors aweigh”. The navy (besides the army and marine corps) was the most joined branch in my family, so I feel pride of not only my American Navy Heritage, but my actual British blood as well. Rest with your Queen in heaven, Philip. From the “New England” region of the US of A.

The only thing which spoiled this last tribute to her late majesty was the one on the far left. The others felt genuine grief as evident on their faces including the children. The other one was play acting, curtsying deeper to draw attention to herself. This person felt nothing for our late majesty as was evident in her mock curtsy in her faux documentary, filmed whilst her late majesty was still with us and didn't care if she saw it.

Upon viewing this video after having witnessed the cremonies "live" on TV, I am reminded once again how wonderfully the British armed forces and associated units performed their ceremonial duties. As a retired U.S. Naval officer, however, I must point out how magnificently the British Navy ratings appeared, and how superbly those ratings performed their duty in this sad procession on behalf of Queen and country. Her Majesty, the beloved Queen . . . requiescat in pace.
