Fantastic! I assume the logical order to taste them is exactly how you guys showed it in the video? The Organic expressions used to be spicy so I would have put it as last, but I guess here the Bere Barley is the one that is the boldest, hence the last?

Tide Lines are a young, Highland band whose debut album broke into the top 20 of the official iTunes download charts. Dreams We Never Lost was released on Friday 1st June 2017 and immediately began storming up the charts to the giddy heights of number 15

WHY DOES BRUICHLADDICH PUT CORKS IN THEI BOTTLES?! Some red wines benefit from cork because it allows them to continue to mature in the bottle but they are absolutely useless in a bottle fo whisky. The high abv causes them to deteriorate into the whisky and eventually break. I have had 3 corks break, a Port Charlotte 10 and 2 bottles of Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Scottish Barley Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky that I brought back from the distillery. I am DONE buying whisky from Bruichladdich until they stop using corks.

Why would the description "Rye Whisky" have been possible with a 100% rye mashbill? Isn't there just Single Malt and everything else is Grain Whisky in Scotland?

Looks like their rye is indeed labeled a single grain whiskey. The "single" in single malt and single grain denotes that all of the whiskey is from a single distillery. If the whiskey comes from multiple distilleries, it's a blended malt or blended grain whiskey.

Hi Jason, Hi Kash, there's a useful diagram on the Scotch Whisky Assoc website www.scotch-whisky.org.uk/discover/enjoying-scotch/scotch-whisky-categories/ The definitions are rather strict and complicated, but that's what keeps Scotch in the high prestige it is held. There is as yet no definition of "Rye Whisky" which is why we haven't called ours that, but if more distillers are wanting to release and make it in future, this could change. Actually to have "Islay Single Grain" as a new, agreed, naming convention opens up more opportunity for us and other distilleries here to experiment even further with mixed mashbills. Absolutely love the shout out to Delilah's and our AMAZING hours long virtual tasting, Simon! (BTW - not that it's as important, but Chicago, not Boston, - next time you're in Chicago we'll make it memorable in-person so it's easier :D). Drinking the last of my "Sixteens" Cuvee E / Sauternes and listening in preparation for my Islay visit. Cheers, and can't wait to visit!

Glè mhath! It is lovely to hear how well your company has developed. I think it is wonderful the way that you work with the wider community, as it will have a great impact on such a small island. I believe that all companies should involve their local area more, as it greatly helps the environment, and allows local people to find work where else they may have to look to leaving their home community. Been looking forward to the Bruichladdich rye since it was announced, but I feel for Gillie and Graeme when they are getting filmed here. I can mash in every day of the week without a worry, until there is engineers around measuring up for its replacement then I'm like 'don't fail now.' At what age are you planning on maturing the Islay rye?
