I have a 09 2 door automatic with the 3.8. All my friends jeeps are 4 doors with the 3.6. One is a 6 speed the rest are automatic. All our jeeps are stock. Despite being considerably down on power I find that I easily do things they struggle with. Some of that may be me as I can tell I’m more confident than they are on the trail. I think both have their advantages but in most situations the 2 door is better.

So sad I had to work out of town and mist this run. I had a blast last year with y’all.

Mother of god this is both awesome and my nightmare. I just bought a 2024 black TRD Pro. Not sure I would attempt this without a lift and some bigger tires. 😅

Does anybody think that maybe a 2 inch lift or 3 inch lift and also some 285s are the way to roll here?. Would that help in a lot of the situations that this truck found itself in? I ask because I have the exact same vehicle but have only been doing moderate and easy trails. Want to take it to this level.

Use that A-track acts like a front locker.

Nice video.. That is a TRD PRO not an Offroad. and Im impressed, because the Pro does not Have the KDSS suspension.. The TRD Offroad is better at rock crawling..

At 12:30 mts rock mode would have acted like a front locker and would have ensured your front wheels get equal power. Actually, I would have just ran mts rock mode with the rear locker during the entire rock garden there…

FYI. New vehicles need to break in the engine to 1k miles. I feel sorry for whoever he sold this 4runner too. He either has more money than brains or has some pretty shit friends to let him ruin his 4runner without proper modifications.

Pretty impressive for a stock 4R. A lift-kit and more appropriate rubber and it would have sailed through nicely.

I’m guessing we have a novice driver unfamiliar with the 4Runner’s features. But I really love the good attitude and willingness to pay the tuition! Someone should show him how to use the left foot while wheeling. That would help a bunch. Awesome work! Thanks for posting 👍

2 door is much easier off road on road 4 door handles way better so it depends on your lifestyle if it’s an off-road only rig 2 door is the only way to go

I would have really liked to see a few pics of the under side after that to see if at all any damage/dents/scratches
