All police and emergency people should get the talk to text app. The phone is placed in front of them with the screen facing deaf person.. As they speak, the phone texts the statements made so the deaf person understands.

too bad the deaf translator did incorrect text interpretation. The rotors do not not flatten out in an autorotation. Lead and lag with semi rigid rotors still continues and you have even lift distribution. The energy is in 3 types, potential, and inertia for thrust and rotor RPM. The blades continue to spin do to the law of conservation of angular momentum or in short Newton's first law which says an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force and lift distribution continues across the blades because of Bernoulli's principle and Newton's 3rd law considering of course that the blades stay in motion and with the cyclic and collective that the proper angle of attack is maintained. Basically you have just the right speed (around 70 knots) and RPMs (not above 102% or below 96% for normal glide configuration and not min or max glide which alters the speed and RPM percentage slightly.) You could not dive towards the ground at 200 MPH and not rip the rotor out out the mast or get into retreating blade stall and tip outside down and probably rip the helicopter apart and would not cancel the glide and begin to flare just 40 feet above the ground at still 50 mph. Also if he is following regulations the engine actually does not go off meaning you would have to reset the fuel mixture and restart the engine and attempt an engine on landing while doing the auto (at least according to the POH) but more so the collective is lowered and the throttle is rolled off so the engine is decoupled from the transmission and to power the blades are spinning from is from the continued induced flow of air and continued rotor intertie momentum from the freewheeling unit. The rotor spins with the engine coupled with the clutch actuator which can disengage easily without the engine RPM and still allow the rotor RPM to spin much like a cyclist pedaling a bicycle that stops pedaling but the wheels continue to spin without pressure on the pedals with one of the gears engaged. Also class D is not "military airspace" you would fail a check ride answering that. Truly class Bravo and class Charlie need radio clearance to enter and are more commercial in nature then Delta having transition routes etc. that can be seen on a tac chart and the helicopter needs a two way radio and ADS B out and a mode C transponder and must establish two way radio communication with ATC prior to entering. Alpha is between 18,000 and 60,000 feet and can be only be flown into with a commercial aircraft that is IFR instrument capable. Mostly such aircraft leave a Brave or Charlie class airport to enter Alpha among commercial routes pre planned and cleared by ground for these type certified aircraft capable of flying into Alpha. Class D also requires a two way radio to establish communication and enter the airspace however it is not "military airspace" as military airspace is military airspace and can be entered with a civilian aircraft with permission. Class D is just a lower traffic class airspace with weather VFR conditions being 2000 feet from clouds and 1000 feet above and 500 feet below unless on an IFR or special VFR flight plan and (usually has) a diameter of 4 statute miles and 2500 foot ceiling. Also this is a really cool video. Not saying this video is bogus. I have not read whichever part in the FAR or subpart allows a deaf person to fly. Just some notes. A person can fly an aircraft with his rating and privilege to fly in such an airspace being his license and another form of identification such as ID or passport and has obtained his most recent medical certification and has his up to date proficiency rating logged in his logbook entries and the aircraft has the registration and airworthiness certificate and weight and balance and operating manual in non towered airspace if he cannot hear as well. Possibly. With exception. Hearing what is happening is part of pilots awareness. Such as an engine problem. Or the low rotor RPM horn. That being said the low rotor horn has a light and an engine issue will be associate with vibrations and the gauges will indicate low RPMs or gauges like temperature or pressure not in the green or warning lights or a malfunctioning tachometer etc. As long as the minimum equipment is on board he can fly. Think of TOMATOFLAME. As long as he has checked the weather for storms or warnings such as SIGMETS or AIRMETS or convective SIGMETS or the METAR doesn't have some impending temperature/dewpoint spread close and visibility will soon be seriously reduced and he has done the pre flight checks and checked the engine and start up checks and everything is in the green he can go flying. As I said I don't believe I have read the part in the FAR that says the restriction to a pilot with limited hearing flying except when two way radio communication is established. But to pass that medical I believe he needs some sort of hearing. I believe his medical would be deferred to the FAA if he was totally deaf based on previous NTSB cases where accidents occurred because a pilot's hearing was distracted. I am sure "some level of hearing" is required in case a passenger behind him is screaming "look out another aircraft" or you can hear the tail rotor ripping out and you are about to go into serious LTE and need to enter an auto to get rid of the torque which soon will have no anti torque to counter it or to at least hear the instructor in training scream "TURN THE HELICOPTER SO THE LEFT SIDE IS NOT IN THE WIND WE ARE FEELING MAJOR TAIL ROTOR VORTEX RING STATE!!" and scream it as loud as possible into the headphone. Yes he is not going to be checking the ATIS prior to entering class D but I believe even Gulf and Echo require some sort of minimal hearing to operate an aircraft. Considering also factors to watch out for when passing a medical are even if your optics or somatosensory perceptions are functioning your vestibular needs to be tested. It is your inner ear. It doesn't mean you need to be able to hear because it's based on how the turning and spinning of an aircraft can make you dizzy and it's an important sensory organ needed to be tested before flying. But guess how the doctor tests it? By trying to test your hearing to see if certain sounds make you dizzy. Yes stupid as per FAA medical FAR regulations. I believe this video was shortened to get views. Which sadly means the translation was shortened a bit as well as the explanation for how a "NEARLY" deaf person can fly and pass regulations and obtain privileges and ratings. You could always say the next nearly deaf pilot could contact the FAA through the local FSDO and find out how he can be a pilot even if he is nearly deaf. But then he can't make the phone call. He is nearly deaf. So while this is really cool video it is somewhat click bait for those wanting to be more greatly informed.

I do have one more question. Did the FAA make an exception on requirements for private pilot? To obtain a private pilot helicopter certificate a pilot must have 40 hours minimum flight hours. Practicing things like patterns, straight and level flying, auto rotations, vortex ring state recovery procedure, maybe Vuichard, hydraulics off recovery, low rotor RPM recovery, mast bumping and low G, retreating blade stall, all the SFAR 73 stuff, steep approach, normal approach and shallow approach landings. Run on landings. And of course the hardest part that takes the pilot the longest to learn. Hovering! And avoiding all types of LTE like tail rotor vortex ring state, main rotor disc interference, weathercock, etc. Hover autos. Quick stops. Hover taxi. Air taxi at 40 feet and 40 knots. etc. Within these 40 hours is a minimum of 20 hours dual control time, 3 hours of which must be night time flying, 10 hours of solo which requires 10 hours of time where no commercial CFI instructor is in the aircraft on the other set of controls but all solo. Solo time flying with the cyclic and collective and anti torque pedals, managing a change in CG and all of it PIC time or "pilot in command time." Also required in the soloing is enough proficiency to do 3 hours of cross country time. This cross country time can mostly be from a non towered airport to a towered airport. Cross country time is not measured in the time flown but the distance between two airports. It must be from airport to airport. It cannot be an off airport landing they are not testing your ability to assess winds, obstacles, performance, path in, path out, and surfaces. Of course that is required on airport too but anyway it's the traditional off airport landings that make cross countries. It's flying from one airport to another in distance. Most of this can be non towered. However included in the solo training is 3 take offs and landings at a towered airport solo. And one portion of the cross country solo flying time must be made from a towered to a non towered airport or from a non towered airport to a towered airport. How does one who cannot enter towered airspace and make radio calls as he cannot hear pass this portion of requirements to be able to take the private pilot check ride and obtain the private pilot certificate and rating which means you can fly by yourself and with passengers? Or this some sort of special flying license that does not grant the same privileges as having a private pilot license?

Yes and No. alike you say base on her or his face then can establish personal sign as identity in hearing class as learn ASL.. in deaf school as I myself am only deaf with no sign accessible, they gave me sign 🆔, then I started to learn children sign language ( my precious moment) I know all school student’ sign ID. I know in British once meet 3 from UK as they visited here in city. Told me how their sign ID. Kinda weird but that is it. For example: guy as student with his name Ray. All students with same name Ray and sign ID R on chin. All same sign ID. Then spelling last name. Then you would know which who he or she is.. WOW alike I say NO because related to British sound not right, (I don’t agree ) but it’s Brutish own sign ID as British traditional! I have to respect theirs..

Yup, they’re revealing outfits! Hooters background they really don’t have a good conscience or they wouldn’t have that kind of mindset towards the young girls they have serving the foods. Plus I’ve seen the girls on another site & they’re no different than any playboy centrefold! 👎there’s no class with a name like “hooters” It’s just a vulgar term for the woman’s breasts. Smart n’up & start developing a real conscience; 1 that tells you this is a rather degrading place to eat in.

Don’t know about their food, but their outfits are another story! I’d be very uncomfortable inside their establishment(s). Hooters based on what I’ve heard from people are basically saying: it’s a sexualized restaurant. They’re clearly interested in more than (possibly) good food but they wanna make the girls just a sexualized object! That’s disgusting!

On June 1st I complete my open water course and this video gave me some real hope! I am very hard of hearing (with my HA in) and deaf without them. I have found this video very heartwarming to still be able to share the experience. I have been concerned with not finding a buddy or having a hard time getting trained when I can only assume not to many instructors know ASL. I don't even know either of you and I am proud of you both! I've always told my wife who better to be a buddy with than someone who can sign more than the 100 "diver" signs - Those two could have a full blown convo about anything - Gone are the boring 3 min safety stops - now they can be fun :) I wish I came across this video months ago when I was hotly debating to even get involved! This proves I made the right choice!! Such an adorable young lady!!
