yoooo fam if you see this! what size was the output shaft nut? is it a long 27MM??? i have a customer in the shop right now we taking his getrag apart a couldnt fit anything over the output shaft all our shop sockets are not long enough!!

I personally couldn’t find one I purchased a socket and used a grinder against the outer sidewall. Pretty sure I mentioned the size in 1-3 videos

@@stancehooptie yea! It seems to be a 30mm thin wall 12 point! I just did the same and grinded it down! We are out in Canada and non of the brands we have in the shop would fit! Best solution would be cheap 30mm deep socket and grind it down if it doesn’t fit!

In part one you say that the blue wire on the blue switch needs to go to pin 23 in the DME, now in this video you say blue wire on the blue switch to pin 8 on EWS. Wich one is it because i want to get i right the first time 👍thx btw

was there a shim or anything when you disassembled it? mine doesnt turn by hand at all once i get it torqued to spec and i know its suppose to be turnable when in neutral

I had the exact same issue. Your seal is after market, I had tried 3 different aftermarket seals to try and save money I ended up buying it from bmw and it worked perfectly afterwards. Get a seal from the dealership

It is possible that your cats are clogged. Instead of pulling your cats remove the 02 sensors and take a look at the honey combs to see if their clogged.

They were mechanics for over 30+ years lol most of them are part of drag racing teams. The reason old heads don’t like racing is because mechanics are miserable especially the older guys. If you gave them a 1978 charger for free they’d be flying in that thing likes there’s no tomorrow lol

Hey man, good to see you are working on a getrag 250. I have a mint 325i with non VANOS, it has a getrag 250. Many of bimmer guys prefer putting ZF 310/320 instead, is there any reason that you chose getrag 250 over ZF?

That’s sick man! I got the Getrag because that’s what I could get, I got a 328i it came auto and I wanted to swap it. I was struggling to find a manual trans for the vehicle that wasn’t over priced and I found this one at a junk yard so I just pulled it! It’s for my first drift car so any transmission that I can manual switch the gears would have worked for me! Although if it was a car I was putting money into it would be a whole different story
