sorry to say this dude but your guide stinks of horizon hobby. please be honest that you get sponsored and that's why you talk all about them. there is no shame in that but for noobs this is really mis leading. there is also a free sim that works with any transmitter called Phoenix. thanks
@TheTravelingTechGuy
@TheTravelingTechGuy Күн бұрын
Sorry, I'm not sponsored by anyone. The gear and steps I recommend for beginners, are the same steps I would take if I was starting all over from scratch. Matter of fact, I did use the same steps when I got back into the hobby 18+ years ago. Phoenix is a good sim but, they are out of business. RF is the one that helped me practice in the beginning and since most of the models in the sim are out on the market today, you can, "Try before you buy" a particular model. I prefer using the included DX Interlink controller with my RF sim. The reason, I can plug it into my computer at any time and practice for as long as I want without having to stop and recharge my transmitter. If any manufacturer would like to sponsor a video or two or the channel, shoot me an email. :) Thanks for the comment and for watching!!!

I have the same setup. An issue that occurred with me was model settings being reset or deleted. I was using an orange receiver, happen twice to me and that was the last time I messed around with it . Maybe there's something I'm missing

Sorry to hear that. If you haven't already, check for a software update on the transmitter and the 4n1 module. If you have already done all that, I'd reach out to FrSky support to see if they have any answers. Thanks for weighing in and watching!!!

Im curious, since this is a stealth design, would a small rc version also be less detectable on radar? Id imagine a small plane like this would be completely invisible since the full size one already is nearly invisible 🤔
@TheTravelingTechGuy

Due to the small size of the RC version, radar wouldn't be able to see it. Thanks for the question and for watching!!!

These Kolm engines are very impressive. I watched a video of these model P-51s that topped out at 190 miles per hour. I want to put one on a massive airboat.
@TheTravelingTechGuy
@TheTravelingTechGuy 10 күн бұрын
That would be pretty cool! Hopefully, you could keep enough down force to keep the airboat from flying off? If you ever do it, get it on vid! Thanks for commenting and watching!!!
@UltraMagaFan2
@UltraMagaFan2 9 күн бұрын
@@TheTravelingTechGuy You definitely wouldn’t have to worry about the thing flying off. The boat would be very heavy. The engine alone weighs 20 pounds. Then you have the hull, which I would build out of aluminum, which is at least another 10 pounds. Then you have your batteries, servos, receivers, fuel tank, motor mount, and various other things that add even more weight to it. The only thing I’d be worried about is the boat being too back heavy. You risk the chance of capsizing it and it wouldn’t get on plane. But that can easily be solved by putting the fuel tank and some lead weights in the front of it to balance it out.

Any advice on removing old monokote cove. Bought any old plane from someone. It has been in a garage in the hot Louisiana heat for years. The clear coating was falling off the monokote. Used a heat gun. Removed a lot of it. Went over it with packing tape heat. Removed a little more. Now I'm left with the orange cover adhesive in spots. If I use acetone it just smears. I'm going to cover it in the same color. Do I need to remove the rest. If so, any suggestions? Thanks for any advice you can provide.
@TheTravelingTechGuy
@TheTravelingTechGuy 15 күн бұрын
If it's the same color, you don't have to remove all of it. To help the new covering stick because of old covering left, you can use Cover Grip covering adhesive. Here's a link to it if you would like to check it out: alnk.to/2jMkqWR Thanks for the question and for watching!!!

I got this FRSKY 20S and I wanted to program this thing so I could fly my RC model here in my ranch. not to fly a SpaceX or NASA rocket into orbit. Cause im not a rocket scientist… I’m gonna return this transmitter tomorrow. This is just a bad nightmare. Couldn’t even find those menus. Very frustrating to try to switch to this radio brand. What’s the best brand ? The old one JR that works wonders. Not going thru this.

Hate to hear you had trouble setting it up. I guarantee you I'm not a rocket scientist by any stretch of the imagination! I still have a hard time trying to program my FlySky PL18 transmitter but, I did find the X20s pretty straight forward on a basic set up for a plane. You didn't mention it in your post, did you also get the 4-n-1 module along with the transmitter to bind with your current receiver?

buy a rtf as your first, or a pnp if you already have a radio. buy somethingunder $200. youre going to crash it, you want to crash it. when you inevitably do, save all its parts. motor, prop, cowl, esc, servos, battery strap, y harness, hinges, control rods. later on down the road, youll find yourself building new airplanes out of the old ones(my flitetest millennuim flerken donated its parts to make an eclipson pitts s12). if youre sure youre going to love this hobby, you should start out with a radio(under $200) and a charger(under $200). my i6x and venom pro duo were $180 together, and will more than support you for the next 5 years at least. get some simulator time, the simulator can be invaluable for muscle memory(FSone is free and compatible with the i6x). DONT SPEND MONEY IF YOU DONT HAVE TO!! this hobby can be crazy cheap (under $500 total) or really expensive (over $1,000 aircraft) but that is entirely up to you. might want to look into 3D printing too!

I had to do some research on this topic as, I haven't experienced the issue with my DLE 111cc twin. From my research, the issue is possible and could be caused from either a faulty ignition cable on the affected side, an incorrect gap on a spark plug or, a possible hole in a piston. Like I said, I haven't experienced this issue and haven't heard anyone talking about it, lately. Thanks for the question and for watching!!!

V1, v2 and sometimes v3, refer to the version numbers of a particular model.
