Installed these about 5 years ago. Overall, really happy with them, but just this past week while blowing tree pollen out of the roof valleys i noticed that there appears to be what looks like lichen starting to grow on the mesh especially on the north side of the house. Need to dig to see how to inhibit that from spreading and filling the mesh.

After moving to "snow" country, and in our newly built home, the gutters would load up with snow, melt just enough to fill the gutters with ice and then as the snow was melting, it was running all over our front porch and refreezing, giving us an ice skating path! Problem solved with THESE Gutter Guards from Costco! I zipped tied a roof heating cord under the gutter guards and anytime it starts to snow, I turn on the heated cord and that melts the snow on the gutter guard, allowing it to drain through my down spouts (which also have the heater cord in them) and for the last two seasons, we have had very little issues with the melting snow off the roof, turning into ice on the front porch!

I couldn't tell if your roof was a steep roof or not but seems like on a steep roof the guards would make a big shift in the pitch of the roof. I don't recall seeing where you were located.... do you get a lot of snow? If so, did the snow cause any problems?
@k6outdoors
@k6outdoors 11 күн бұрын
Our house is a 6/12 pitch roof and we are located in Iowa. We get a fair amount of snow each year and generally they don't cause a lot of issues. With any gutterguard there is a higher risk for Ice daming and ice build up. Generally the only time I have any real problems is I've build up from a storm, but it usually melts off on the first sunny day we get. Houses here are designed to prevent Ice daming and if you are worry about build up you can always use heat cable. I'm 110% happy with these guards and would still recommend them! Hope this helps and thanks for stopping in!

I have the same tiller, had it for 2 years now. Bought it used at an estate sale for $300 Canadian, it had hardly been used. It starts good, lots of power and can dig deep. My only problem is (maybe it is my soil) it just wants to dig down and not pull itself ahead on it's own. It doesn't seem to matter how I set the wheel or the depth stake. It is like the drive system is so big and blunt, it can't pull that thru the soil. I have to keep wrestling the handlebars side to side to keep moving ahead, it gets awfully tiring. Has anyone else experienced this and come up with any solutions?

I put these Costco leaf guards on one of my gutters about 3 years ago. I totally agree that the quality is exceptional and they go on pretty easy. Just a couple of points. Make sure you clean that top edge of the gutter thoroughly so the adhesive on the leaf guards adheres securely. Also, as he put a few screws in near the downspouts if the need arises to go into the gutter to fix any issues, I, on the ends pieces near the downspouts cut the red covering on the adhesive strip about 4-6 inches and peeled them off. That way those last guards can be easily pried off to get into the gutter if necessary as most of the guard was not adhered with the adhesive strip. I have had absolutely no problems with the guards staying in place and like the man says, almost nothing accumulates on the gutter guards.

You cannot buy 2 Mahindra Max 26 tractors for what you can buy a John Deere 1023e for...come on, you know better than that and we do too!!
@k6outdoors
@k6outdoors 18 күн бұрын
Hey I appreciate your feedback. Unfortunately, the 1023e is nowhere near the size of what the Max is and would be more comparable to the Emax series of tractors. Equivalents to the Max would be the 2025R or arguably the 3025e in regard to capacities. The 2025R and 3025e with loader will set you back almost $30k if not a little more depending on where you live. This number is literally $10,000 dollars more than I paid for my Max with a loader, pallet forks, tiller and box blade. Now granite prices do very from region to region, but the picture would hold true. Checkout @rockhillfarm as he just went through this on his recent tractor acquisition and john deere and Kubota were vastly higher. Now maybe you cant buy two of the exact tractors from Mahinda like the Max but if push came to shove youd be real close to a wash and have 2 tractors to 1. Thanks for stopping in!
