I doubt few or any nations will go with the M5/M7 or it's cartridge as it's really just made to punch though body armour, it's crazy expensive (pretty sure they could have got away with steelcase and not SS and brass) but it eats barrels like crazy. Sig got a good payday from that.... I'm pretty sure if the US did not shaft NATO into using 7.62x51 as everyone but the US was happy with the .270 / .280 (7mm British) intermediate round, I'm sure it would still be in service the EM-2 rifle was a very good intermediate bullpuo assault rifle and the FAL in 7mm British was a much lighter rifle. Over the years 7mm British would be improved upon and better rifles would have came out. I feel like NATO went with 9mm for pistol 7mm British for intermediate then a new 8.6/ .338 for machine guns and DMRs with .50bmg for heavy. The greed behind 7.62x51 was the fact the US planned it would be very easy to change tooling slightly as it's pretty much just a cut down .30 06 with a lighter bullet and also that they could convert or make mag fed select fire rifles on the M1 carbine (they could not but the Italians could) so ended up with the M14 that was quickly ditched for the M16. The rest of NATO (apart from France) just went with FALs in 7.62 NATO until each nation went to 5.56 5.56 is ok but you realy need a 20" barrel for good velocity and performance so it's why so many nations went with bulpups The SA80 had some aramlite AR18 herididge and on paper a short stoke piston with rotating bolt and a Chromed bore 20" barrel works well, should have just gone with a spruced up AR18 /M16 or a non bullpup but the people who designed the SA80, not many if them shooters and it was a turn that they just kept on polishing. It is accurate when it works and the pretty much all remade by HK A2 versions are better but no idea why they kept with it.... It's a shame as it was endfeilds last rifle,, sterling has been closed for a long time, alot of the big names in the past that are still open now make air rifles, shotguns or rifles with the only company making a millitary small arm in the UK being accuracy international with their bolt guns (they did make semi auto .50s) Pistols are not that important I guess but they went from the very old Canadian hi-powers to glocks..... (Company's before the handgun ban made some nice stuff like the 9mm spitfire pistol that was based on the CZ75) I'm sure they will go with a 5.56 for NATO reasons and I hope it's a short stoke rotating bolt with folding stock made in the UK. The KAC rifles if you look at the number of rifles and the cost then KAC must have made a fortune and so did the guys who purchased them as the numbers don't add up. Personally if made in the UK If it's the AR route then something like a modernised T91 with a KAC style bolt and barrel extentio with a nice trigger and optic or just move away from the AR and make a nice lightweight folding stock modular rifle short stoke piston rotating bolt with a good quality CHF CL barrel that's easy to change sizes as in "18 - "20 as standard and then quick change barrels or upper for shorter, integraly suppressed or .300 / others. They will most probably buy rifles from Canada or the US ready made maybe HK in all likelihood. The parents on the KAC systems are expired and can be used by anyone..... At least the UK did adopt a nice LMT AR10 in .308 and ,6?5 from LMT but that cost a small fortune...

Labour wont shelve this project. They need something to quell the mass uprising they are creating. Pensioners taxed to death. Two tier police project. Freedom to do absolutely nothing but don't dare send a hurty message or have a different opinion. Day by day government turning to controlment. Enter the tempest the first tool to be used on the people that made it and payed for it. 😞

With a labour government in power, will they do an Obama and slash the number of production aircraft by 75%. Obama cutting F22 numbers down from 750 to 190 was a national disgrace.

We no longer have a proper navy. More admirals than ships. Can we defend our coastline? No! "Preparing for operations in the Autumn?" That must be the planned war with Russia? The 'Globalists' are controlling our government. The MOD is a treasonous joke. Time for proper defence based on truth and common sense.

Twelve no less! I’ll believe it when I see it and I may well be dead before any of them are fully operational. To start with our research and evaluation team will consist of a bunch of dead beat flag officers and senior bureaucrats touring the world being wined and dined and “entertained” for years to come visiting every nation with any pretensions of a shipbuilding industry. Ultimately the three most likely contenders are Germany, France & Sweden. The Japanese classes on paper look impressive but without selling or exporting weapons even to allies or close friends who really knows? I also can’t help wondering why the Brits put their Upholder class subs almost immediately into reserve following commissioning? The Cold War might have ended but they would still have been far cheaper for training, the famed “ Perishers course” and for covert missions in place of a nuke boat up to three times their size. Did they knowingly sell us lemons despite our ties of blood, history and the crown?
