I’m so sick of everyone simping for the dragon roost island theme. WW title theme/end credits theme is objectively the best song of that game.

I love Zelda. Grew up with Zelda 1 and 2 and think almost all of the Zelda games are great.....yet I really dislike this game. Running out of magic in dungeons where you absolutely need magic, falling being a pivotal part of exploration AND the way many enemies attack you to stall your progress, enemies in general having annoying attack patterns going above your head and such. I know I am in the minority but this is my least favorite Zelda

Zelda was my crash course into gaming at 6. It released the year I was born and became my first video game that I couldn’t stop playing. It has always been my favorite game and I go back to it every once in a while for the nostalgia and it’s always fun.

In the days of the pre internet, games like this were amazing technology. Zelda was definitely my favorite and in 1986, I would say I spent most of that entire summer on this game. Eventually I called the Nintendo hotline and got the final map to the dungeon to save the princess. There was also a magazine for Nintendo, those were great too because they had maps and tips and tricks. Hard to believe it was almost 40 years ago.

What you mentioned about the randomness and lack of obvious hints is precisely what makes this game unique and interesting. In contrast, modern RPGs and action-adventure games often diminish the fun of exploration by hand-holding with too many clear hints. These newer games strip away the creativity and critical thinking that the original Zelda demanded.

There was no timeline when this game was released. Its called "A link to the past" because it returns the series to the top down format of the first game, after the poorly received 2nd game.

These are so expertly made for no reason! The fact that you even use the pitch bending using the circle pad is just wicked, dude. These sound stupidly amazing, but in a good way!

6:45 what is up with that NES having black buttons!? Was that a real variant id never seen or a prototype or something!? Also what's even more absurd is both my parents were total tards when it came to electronic device hook-ups and installations. Even when I was 7 or 8 years old I was DEFINITELY the one who knew how to use the RF splitter, set the timers on the VCRs and hook up the Nintendo (entertainment system) and or SEGA (master system and eventually Genesis when it came out) ← born in 81

Are you Gen Z? You're making me feel old. I'm not going to write "I'm an old man of 45 ..." Or anything like that -less so because I'm not 45, but just because I still feel like a big kid in my head. Anyway, I'm not judging and this is not the first video by you I've enjoyed. I'm commenting to say I really enjoy your dry sense of (not laugh out loud) sense of humor. Perfect example when you say something along the lines of 'obviously flute wins over spider' like thats a logical through-line or something. I also love you naming the baddies as I used to playing NES as a kid, Simons Quest (which is Castlevania II & despite me never really owning or playing Links Adventure, I mean, Adventure of Link, I do think Castlevania II [which I've also never really mastered, though I think I finished it] is the closest to the play mechanics of Link than any other game so you should check it out and maybe even do a video of it too ) was the most fun to assign stupid names and pop-culture references to the bag guys. Metroid too. Super fun character design. Again, thanks for your time and efforts in these videos. Absolutely love whatever music yer using around 28 minutes in btw, Sincerely, Jay Sharp Pps despite you claiming so in the Zelda 1 video And even throwing a call-back to it- isn't there a map of the overworld in the legend of Zelda? I mean not just the grey rectangle with your green square in it, but an actually orangey map that fills in and shows the overworld kinda looks like a skull or something or am I making this all up (false memory)?

1:42 why do you say you need to place "stones" 🪨 in the palaces when the manual yer reading from clearly says you need to place 🔮 crystals upon the statues within... Also, I hate to be a dick, but by 1988 they really didn't really need to explain "mountain, field and swamp" in the printed booklet. Personally , I always thought it was redundant overkill. ← Like that sentence. And the explanation was simply added to try to rectify the insane amount of complaints received over the first Zelda game from all the slack-jawed, buggy-eyed mouth-breathers who wrote letters and called in to complain to the developers about how confusing the first game was. Also, I found it kinda funny how in this video you say you kinda wished you had the ability to revisit the palaces after you completed them, whereas in the first game, when you get the magic flute that lets you warp to your completed labyrinths - (in your previous video) you said you didn't understand why anyone would want to revisit... I remember being a kid and re-entering to power up and get coin And it's especially helpful in the levels you can complete without all the items/map/level-up necessities etc. Sometimes you can mistakenly kill the boss but not find the raft or whatever it was (I really don't remember) Anyway thanks for your videos and entertainment on this Sunday afternoon. I particularly enjoy the array of music from games and orchestrated accompaniment. It's a VERY welcome touch and I'm not used to seeing it in others replay videos or vlogs. Im a music producer so I take pride in soundtrack selection when I make vlogs and also love to insert original unsigned unreleased music from some of my many bands (I've played with 14 different bands in the last 24 years) but I do intend to take a cue from you and perhaps use an actual 8 or 16 bit soundtrack when referencing something relatable. I've never played the Adventure of Link either But now that I know you can magically refill your life or EVEN TURN YOURSELF INTO A FAERIE??! IM ALL IN. My NES emulator (sans for maybe my game boy advance or Sega Genesis emulator) on this here Android phone is my favorite Downloading it now. Thanks for this keep up the work. I'm going to check now but I hope you've done maniac mansion dragon warrior River City Ransom Metroid And I'll probably be here to edit this sentence periodically throughout the day as I'm kinda OCD like that

I just wanted to comment here that if none of the other 1,300 people haven't yet: THE MAGIC BOOK (which is just called 'bible' in th original Japanese versions) GIVES your MAGIC WAND magical powers. As In the waves emitted grow much stronger and leave a flame behind that will enable you to find all the secret entrances in the woods and forest much much easier;-)
