There have always been slaves since humanity has existed. Unfortunately, i think blacks think they were the only slaves to ever exist. Africans also had their own hand in selling their citizens into slavery. Lack of historical knowledge is never a good thing.

Maryland was not included in Lincoln's Emancipation because it was considered a Union state. Slavery was prohibited 1 year later.

Don't think of Maryland as the South? Ever been there in summer. The Mason Dixon line divides Md from Pa not Md from Va, sorry. Canton was a plantation too, "Can-Ton" b/c John O'Donnell traded with Guangzhou, China then called Canton in English.

Is this some revelation?? Great research dude. Lol. It is common knowledge. MD was a border state in the civil war. Some marylanders fought for the south, while others fought for the north. Baltimore city was heavily against abolition, and a plot to kill Lincoln was in Baltimore before he even got into office in DC. John Wilkes Booth assassinated Lincoln. He was from Bel Air, MD. The MD flag is important to marylanders because it represents the north and south coming together united as one. Two family crests - the red and white Crossland flag was flown by pro south marylanders and the black and yellow Calvert flag flown by pro north marylanders.

I grew up in Baltimore but have lived all over the US, including New Orleans. Most people do not think of Maryland as part of "the South" or a former slave state. The ignorance is astounding. It's nothing to be proud of, but we must know our history!

This was a damn good documentary. I'm from Baltimore born and raised and a lot of these stories hit home. It's like a never ending cycle. it's crazy. Thank you for filming this documentary. I'm a film composer and writer myself. I grew up/raised in East Baltimore but live in Yale Heights right now and I'm trying to do a documentary too but about recidivism, prisons, and crime. You've inspired me a lot. Stay safe out there.

Ok once again nothing about the white slavers of Maryland. We’re not gonna talk about how Marilyn used to breed slaves. They were the first ones to stop importing them but we’re not gonna talk about the breathing process yeah

John's Hopkins had slave's?? Shocker, so where do you go from here? If you can't punish the son for the sins of the father, where do you go from here? Just let it go! Or we will never progress as a country. And it starts with us! I'm white, I never owned slaves. Lots of black friends AND FAMILY ! Please let us heal today, for a better tomorrow.

Boo hoo hoo. Every race has been brutally enslaved. West African black Muslim slave traders sadistically put blacks into bondage for thousands of years. Moorish pirates (blacks) enslaved millions of Europeans. Furthermore, without the direct and assiduous efforts of African elites (black people) and their functionaries there would have been no trans Atlantic trade, at least not at anywhere near the scale that prevailed. These BLACK elites hogtied and conveyed fellow blacks to the Jewish slave companies by the hundreds of thousands. Without that no Jewish slave corporation would have risked invasion and subjugation in order to attain a surplus of chattel. So blacks are every bit as seminal to that institution as were whites, if not more so (see supply side and demand side economics). Today in the Sudan blacks are still enslaved by other blacks and the white flesh slave trade is rampant across the world. So sit around feeling sorry for your selves and blaming whites (historically speaking, the first people to make slavery illegal) for your outcomes. Here’s one white boy who isn’t going to feel sorry for you. You won’t get a cent of reparations from me.

LETS STOP LIVING IN THE PAST AND BE SCACKLED BY ITS CHAINS. OUR FUTURE SHOULD LEARN FROM MISTAKES OF THE PAST BUT MUST NOT DWELL ON THEM OR USED FOR EVIL MEANS TO DEVIDE THE PEOPLE AGAINST ONE ANOTHER FOR POLITICAL SELF CENTERED PURPOSES.

It's evident this is all set up to ultimately destroy us as a people. Babylon is about to fall and a lot sooner than what people think. Prophesy is being fulfilled all around us!
