This was really interesting to me. I’m a regular civilian but my son just finished jump school and was just assigned to a weapons squad in the 1BCT, 82 Airborne. I don’t particularly care how well or how poorly this squad did on this exercise. As a dad, it’s still incredibly informative.

What about the M61A1? The M61 has a much higher fire rate and sounds better. I once saw a comment saying the M61 sounded like a gun from Hell while the Gau-8 sounded like some basic machine gun. People have got to learn that the saying can apply to any Machine gun and not just the Gau-8
