Jerry, the email address for the chap that looks after the chalets is [email protected] - the phone number to call is 07890053388 (and it's Paul again). Prices start at £45 (and it's got to be negotiated with Paul). Enjoy your fishing.

Do you have to stay there to fish east learmounth. Had a look online but can’t really get the info. Some cracking fish you’ve caught though. Looks well worth a visit
@billbingham50572 ай бұрын
Hello Jerry, yes, it's private fishing - for members only and residents. However, there is a small boathouse which you can hire for the day which (I think) would permit you to fish. Now, if 3 or 4 of you went on a fishing outing I suspect that the cost would be reasonable. The people that run the accommodation are different from those who look after the fishery and you would need to speak to the accommodation people about the "boat house" and its daily cost. The trout in the lake have been in there for at least two years and have grown on (long and lean) since they were stocked. The course fish in the lake are of the same caliber as the trout. Visit sooner rather than later though. This lake will get warm in the summer and the game fishing will become tough also they get plenty of marginal weed growth in the summer time. If I can find a phone number for the chalet rental I'll publish it (if KZfaq will allow it).

Brilliant Bill love this , looks like you fish the same places I go , what leader and how long was it you were using, keep up the good work 👍👍👍
@billbingham50578 ай бұрын
Hi Chris, not too much thought goes into the leader setup. On the floating line there is a 9 foot (probably a lot less now) tapered leader welded into the fly line (and tied to a tippet ring) then there will be another 6 foot of 6lb nylon to the fly. The sink tip line will have about 9 foot of 6lb leader on it.

Hi Bill, is this stretch part of Guisborough Angling Club reaches or is it free as it's "tidal". Would love to take the boys to Saltburn or up towards the viaduct but think that's GAC. Also random question but Do you know a chap called Alan from Redcar? Fly fishes and used to clay pigeon shoot?

I was talking to Alan today and he mentioned you. He knows you from Larners and The fly tying classes at Ayton. Lovely chapvand ge says you're a great guy and passes on his regards. I've known him 6years from cleaning his and his wife's eindows. Sadly he's not been fishing much during the pandemic. @billbingham50572 жыл бұрын
The sink tip line is one that I bought 2nd hand off eBay. Deffo not a Sunray however, the white line with the red overhang marker is a Sunray matched to a Loop SX rod. It flies out effortlessly and I am very fond of it. Whether it lasts a couple of years remains to be seen. The other two lines are 2nd hand eBay buys but just seem to keep going.

What was your method and flies please?
@billbingham50573 жыл бұрын
Hello Trevor, (this is the same answer that I have given to Bob) usually when the fish are supping something just below or breaking through the water surface I will be fishing one of the following - a size 18 to 24 midge, same size CDC F-fly (or CDC bubble emerger) or a foam beetle - basically small and black. I will ensure that my leader sinks and this will pull subsurface my tippet attached to the fly. So long as the fly is not dramatically moved it will stay on the surface. If there is ripple then you won't see the fly so I would raise the rod at any sign of rise beyond my fly line. Leader length is about 8 foot 5/6lb camo (used in coarse fishing (and a lot cheaper than fluorocarbon)), tippet is 3 to 4lb mono. Rods are usually 5 or 6 weight with single hand spey lines to achieve easy distance (this is a bit of a cheat but it works really well). Sorry for the late reply. Bill
@billbingham50573 жыл бұрын
Additional info: The setup that I an using at the start of the video has a deer hair emerger (with additional foam for flotation) on the point and a small olive busser 4 foot away on a dropper. The 3rd take on the video was on the buzzer.

@ouschuoh3 жыл бұрын
What size and type of buzzers do you use?
@billbingham50573 жыл бұрын
Hello Nick, my initial reply seems to have "not happened". Anyways, the point buzzer is normally a size 12 with the dropper being smaller. Point fly is also normally black with silver rib and/or bright cheeks. The dropper is frequently a woven fly from my wife's cotton stash as these end up looking rather scruffy and catch well. Our lakes are not too deep and I can fish with two buzzers about 4 feet apart on a leader of 10 to 12 foot.
@LolsFishingAdventures3 жыл бұрын
I’ve got Larners sussed now William! It’s a fishery built inside a glass dome, where no wind ever blows, isn’t it? The ones I fish are all built inside bloody wind tunnels! Do you just pick zero wind weather or are you just a lucky bugger with the weather? Nice video by the way!

Lol, we have had some peachy weather recently. The two hours that I videoed from 6am show a heavy frost and a freezing Bill who had difficulty not shaking in the cold. But our fishing is excellent at the moment and well worth some angling discomfort.
