Columbia should’ve actually distributed the film in North America and DreamWorks internationally instead of the normal, because DreamWorks basically uses the same logo for their home entertainment logo, but for Columbia, they have their home entertainment logo with Tristar combined (since they’re both owned by Sony), and it has different animation and music.

The vhs of slam dunk Ernest I had, (Australia) had a short episode of some animated show before it, and a trailer of a mature rated film with nudity in it 😂, dunno how that slipped through.

I wish all releases with the Cheesy Shield around the world including UK releases used the Warner Communications byline from 1985 to 1990 and the Time Warner byline from 1990 to 1993. I’ve got the 1989 UK VHS release of Empire of the Sun and it has the bylineless version.

I saw this movie 31 years ago when I was ten on Cinemax with other cool adult animation movies I taped like hey good Lookin, American pop and vampire hunter d and been faves of mine since. And in wizard magazine in 95 I was excited it was gonna get a video release next year and I bought it when I was 14 with soundtrack. I also rented city of lost children at 14 after seeing trailers and ads in newspapers even magazine reviews.

This movie was directed by John McTiernan.

The UK retail VHS of Terminator 2 was released on the 19th October 1992. I remember several months before it came out to buy my dads friend doing us a copy of the tape, it wasn't a cam pirate copy from the cinema but looked like it came from the home video release. As the rental VHS came out awhile before the retail version it was likely a transfer from a rental copy he had made. Those were the days when you had to wait until it came out to rent or buy, often over a year, none of this torrenting or streaming.
