An incredible building which was home to some of British television's most iconic programmes. The era when the BBC owned it was one I'll never forget Thanks for this ❤ 😊

Many thanks to you all for the best tv night's that young project teens could hope for. Monty Python, Doctor Who,Blakes 7 and the original TV series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe. The Goodies, and after a few Year's newer programs,Are You Being Served? Keeping Up Appearances , To The Manor Born.Waiting For God,Children Of The Stones,The Young One's, Father Ted and Absolutely Fabulous. Black Adder,Red Dwarf and British Men Behaving Badly,Coupling and other's than I can't remember the names of right now. They were Golden hours spent laughing together and year's of references in joking with each other. The reruns were like old friends warmly welcomed back throughout the next 4 decades. More recent shows like What We Do In The Shadows are reminiscent of those good year's spent laughing with loved one's gone on before , and now waiting for us to be reunited. ❤

Ok this is going to sound a bit odd, but I set a reminder a while back to ask if you could upload Rick Astley’s appearance on LWT Night Network on Christmas Eve 1987 😅You probably won’t even see this comment, but if I recall, you said that you would upload it around Christmas time if I remembered to ask you because it is lost media

PS it was actually Boxing Day not Christmas Eve. Remind us on Boxing Day and we'll upload a clip - we won't upload the whole show though, that's a rule of ours.

Whenever I’m in west London I always make a point of walking past TVC, albeit now redeveloped. There’s something majestic about that building. Probably my favourite in London. Maybe due to the fact that the majority of shows I watched as a kid were produced there. So historically important. Also, RIP Vangelis

There were also some non-BBC programmes that were filmed at Television Centre during its first 53¾ years. Here is a list of some of them in no particular order: • Harry Hill's TV Burp • 8 Out of 10 Cats • 5 Minutes to a Fortune • Golden Balls • The Alan Titchmarsh Show • Alan Carr: Chatty Man • The Paul O'Grady Show • 10 O'Clock Live • Tipping Point • Piers Morgan's Life Stories

While most of the studios no longer exist (apart from studios 1, 2 and 3), at least we should be thankful that Television Centre is still at the heart of TV history.

Terrance Dicks: A man who wrote many classic adventures such as The War Games, Horror of Fang Rock and The Brain Of Morbius as well as making thousands of Whovians into readers with his books. He will be missed.

The vast majority of people know Terrance from Doctor Who (I've never been a fan and don't like it so I never knew him from that). However, I know of Terrance because of his children's books. I actually got into reading because of his Baker Street Irregular gang stories and his horror stories. I still have a copy of cry Vampire (one of the very best children's vampire stories ever.). His children's books were amazing and very well written and really engrossing. I actually used to get really frightened reading his horror stories. He was such a talented writer. RIP Terrance and thank you so so much for giving me a love of reading and for so many thrilling adventures as a child and teenager.

Early to mid 70s Dr Who had a sort of Hammer Horror vibe and the first 3-4 years of Tom Baker could be quite gothic and most of those years Terrence was involved with the show.
