Как бы мне хотелось хотя бы один раз в жизни посмотреть на то как фильмы и сериалы снимаются,как бы хотелость хоть постоять за кадром,я бы хотела снятся случайным прохожим в каком то фильме или сериале.Как же уютно за кадром.Они сдружились за время съёмок и как одна большая семья

What a dump. This is the worst remake i ve ever seen. Glad this crap was never aired in Europe. This is even more disastrous than the remake of "CSI" DALLAS, a continuation written by people who never had seen a single episode of the original and turned it to some crime series with plots that were redicouless. At least they had the guts to take some of the original cast. But this.... Jesus. No wonder it dissappeared from the screens. Originsl is always best and can not be remade. Good decission to not revive Falcon Crest

I just watched the entire show for the first time ever in 2024 after spending my whole life thinking it would be dumb and I’d hate it… man was I wrong. I’ve lived and breathed Desperate Housewives every minute of every day for the last 3 weeks 😭 genuinely one of the best shows EVER made!

Tonya reminds me of Kazutora from Tokyo Revengers because both of them did not have a happy childhood and ended up committing bad deeds. Thus, they are known to be misunderstood characters.

The interview scene is nearly beat for beat and word for word how the Hutton/Rubirosa wedding actually unfolded in 1953 at the Hotel Pierre in NYC. It is an amalgam of two moments from that day, the actual wedding ceremony and the press briefing, but looking at the real life videos and pictures from that day (search on youtube: "barbara hutton rubiosa wedding"), the scene is identical, down to the couch, the painting, the blocking, the son Cal (Lance in real life), Barbara's constant drunkeness, the Martinis on the table, the questions about Dominican marriage law (in real life, Rubirosa's lawyer Rosenberg responded to those questions, echoing what is mentioned in the movie), and yes, even the accusations of war profiteering (Rubirosa really did sell Dominican visas to Jews for personal profit, but because he was a diplomat he was untouchable), and especially the dress. Also, with the marriage, Barbara Hutton became Barbara Rubirosa, and 'Rubirosa' can be playfully interpreted as 'Red Rose', so in real life, Barbara Hutton truly did become 'Barbara Rose', so to speak. And 'Rubio' is obviously a thinly-veiled interpretation of 'Rubirosa'. P.T. Anderson clearly aimed to make it very apparent who and what he was drawing inspiration from. Fascinating!

Harriet Harris absolutely nailed portraying a stumbling wreck of a person. There are so many shifting, rapid fire micro expressions of different emotions, her doped up forgetfulness, her 6:27 constantly being on the edge of bursting into tears... She makes Barbara Rose so uncomfortable to be around, both pitiable and disgustingly pathetic. Harris is so good in this short role that it really stays with me. I feel so sad for her, especially knowing she was based on a real woman.
