If you still have this projector would you please make a new movie about it with a steady and in focus video camera. This unique projector needs better documentation. Thanks.

Great video Dan. I have done a lot of research on these machines made by Philips so here's what I know. All big manufacturer's got together in Germany with designs for a cartridge recorder but wanted to produce a standard model with which all conformed. Philips designed their cartridge and the EL3300 cartridge recorder in Belgium in 1962. All decided that this would be the design they would all use. But further improvements needed to be made. The finished model EL3300 was exhibited in Berlin in Aug '63. It proved successful so Philips decided to build an additional factory in Holland. And manufacturing started in winter '63. The first units made in thousands were used for marketing and promotion purposes. The rest of the units were made and stored till July 1964, when they began to be distributed to retailers, and promoted via advertising in magazines and newspapers. It was a similar story for the first Norelco units, stocks were built up, and began to be exported after Nov '64. Due to low stocks, sales only began in the US in 1965. The Popularity of the Carrycorder 150 accelerated through word of mouth and Philips started manufacturing the cartridge recorders in Austria too, followed by US and UK. By 1966 Other manufacturers were making their units in Germany, and Sony began making their first cassette recorder Sony model TC100 in1966, it was compliant with the Philips standard BUT used piano keys for the controls. My info is based on literature of that time.

I have a stack loader that has never seemed to behave. Granted I know the reverse function, by design, doesn't work. My problem is that they never advance properly either. Even when using all uniform slide mountings, large stack or small, it never seems to advance properly and one either loads or ejects only halfway. Carousels work flawlessly, but man this stack loader drives me bonkers because I see how convenient it could be if it worked right.

That's cool, thank you. Very interesting video and comment section. The SX-70 wired remote is just shorting two contacts, as documented by multiple sources. However there's no schematic or documentation for the spectra/impulse three-pin remote. You guys must be right, it's probably just two contacts closing one after the other - the first for focussing and charging the flash, and the second one for the shutter. I love my Supercolor 670, but now I really want to get an Impulse and hack up a long wired remote from something like a stereo audio cable. No pesky wireless tech needed to get some group shots! Why, you might ask? Because I absolutely hate self timers, these photos alwas go wrong. And with expensive instant film, no thanks. I want the shot to be taken exactly the momemt I want.

I have one my husband got me from an online auction that looks more like it’s from the 60’s. The FM radio works but I can’t get a signal from any AM stations. Also can’t quite figure out yet how to get the clock to work. Don’t see an on/off switch so I would assume the hands would start moving as soon as I plugged it in. I figured out how to set the time thanks to this video since it’s been eons since I’ve had to set the time on an old school clock. But that doesn’t do any good if the hands don’t start doing their time keeping thing. I did also set the alarm successfully and it actually kicked on, so that was cool. Mine has the schematics on the bottom too, which I never noticed before he pointed it out and mine’s an LCR 510.

Mine certainly isn't new old stock, but it still works flawlessly. I did get tired of holding mine down while I cranked it so I drilled out the two rivets that hold the base on, enlarged the holes slightly and screw mounted it to my workbench. Never needed it to be portable, lol.

I found one of these in my garage. The tip of the antenna is duct taped together and the faders are a little scratchy, but it works nicely and I'm amazed it performs after living in those conditions for who-knows how long! You've got a fantastic radio here.

WOW., what GREAT memories., THANKS.!!! 🙂My grandfather had bought me the EXACT same radio as a Birthday present in December 1964 (I was only 6 years old, and he knew my EXTREME interest in all-things-electronic), and although he wasn't supposed to, he told me it had cost about $70, which was quite expensive gift-item for the time, and had jealous siblings because of it 😞The speaker in that thing was the most beautiful / robust sounding speaker I had ever heard (just like the Grundig speakers of the 70s), and had it up until about 1978, when it was stolen from me, during a break-in at my parents house 😞 I also remember, how even with a set of 4 normal carbon-type "D" batteries (no such thing as Alkalines back then.!), it would run for MONTHS on a single set (depending on the volume setting of course), and was taken with me virtually ever place I went, so as to not only entertain myself, but more importantly, my friends also... :-) BTW: I also remember doing a few minor repairs to the internal electronics in the early 70s, as it slowly became a bit worn-by-use... Again, thanks for the memories.!! Regards, Eric <+> PS: That carry-handle also had a "locking-system", so that if you tilted the handle back at about 45* down in the back, and push the handle towards the hinges, it would lock-in-place, so the the radio could be tilt back to not only project the sound up (from resting at a low spot. like the ground at a picnic), but would keep it safer fro falling over (front or back). Again, what an amazing piece of Germanic craftsmanship (the Dutch are just "kissing cousins" of the Krauts" ;-)

(From Reddit) I've been trying to restore my fathers P3-D, as he recently passed away and I want to try and use it for awhile as a tribute... I too have been looking for the manual, it doesn't appear that the exact one exists anywhere online. His printer module needs replacement (it prints gibberish and doesn't return to zero at boot, gonna find one on ebay for replacement parts), but for now I can at least use the calculator part, while turning the printer off. I too was wondering what the diamond and asterisk do. As for the ink roller: I've partially solved that! -Remove the roller bit from the housing and soak it in Blue Trodat 7011 Stamp Ink. I made a little aluminum foil cup and it worked great to hold the liquid ink against the roller. -Reinstall, and after the first few prints, clean out the print area with a q-tip (it sloshes around onto the removable cover a bit. Its not perfect, but it brings it back to life for a good while... rinse and repeat. As for the paper... tough to find a modern replacement, but here are the dimensions: W (paper) = 1.5" (38mm) L (roll) = 33' ...the best modern replacements I've found on office supply stores is 1.5" wide, but 150' length, essentially meaning you'd have to wind your own rolls from the larger one, if you're that dedicated. I'd love to find the original manual, if anyone can help with that, or, if you have better suggestions, I'm all ears!

I have a recorder like this….got it on eBay a month ago. I have been listening to tapes my husband sent me in 1967-68 while he was in Okinawa. We sent tapes to each other once a week for 18 months. He died in 1996…..to young. It has been beautiful listening to his voice. But now I think the little rubber wheel is wearing out. No matter what speed I use the voice is very sluggish. If i put a little pressure on the black rubber wheel I can understand what he is saying. Can you tell me if I can purchase the wheel and change it myself??? Can’t find anyone who repairs these machines in the San Francisco Bay Area. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Sorry this is so long.

Almost same radio is Commander 6100DS. Instructions manual says 6 months is battery life on normal use and standard batteries. Not sure but alkaline batteries were probably not available yet at that times. Interestingly two way mater has no switch to change from tuning meter to battery voltage meter. It indicates battery voltage when radio doesn't receive any station i.e. not tuned.
